100% legit, real, no bulls##t or show boating. Others could learn from AB for sure. Love the channel lad.
One exception to all the other guys uploading this stuff .... Andrew would still do this and love it without a camera or CZcams. The real deal.
you're quite right there paul..my love of the outdoors will always come first camera's or no camera's.
I have done a wild camp at the trig on Round Hill. There's room for 1 small tent, quite tight, but a nice camp was had.
i may do a circular walk up around that area before commiting to going up for a camp at some point.see what the area has to offer.
Never too early in my part of the world ! Love it !
Cracking video as always mate 👌🏻 love the set up with the cricket and bivy 🙌🏻 that RAB sleep mat looked brill pal, awesome your getting to test that sort of kit out... testament to your knowledge, hard work on your channel and passion for wild camping. Keep it smashing it mate. Hope your looking after yourself ATB Dan
some great kit that mate especially the bag id have loved to keep hold of that..great to be testing some gear & doing what i love to do..
Loving the videos 👍
I worked for six years for the bloke who owns Urra Estate where the Wain Stones are. He lives over the other side in Cold Moor Cote, the farm you walked through is where his gamekeeper lives.
Really pleased for you that Rab are asking you to test their gear. We all know its quality stuff. Great video mate.
Nice sights and sounds ...Thanks.
Cracking video Andy. Stunning 😊
Brilliant video Andy. 👍
Cracking video Andy, and also, what a great spot.
Excellent video as always, Andy. It's great to see a part of the country I've never been to and unlikely to get to! Keep up the great work!
New sleep kit looks interesting Andy. Love the sound of the curlew.
If you’re not going to say it, I am 😉😂Stunning landscape!! Skillfully videoed for your enjoyment. Thanks.
Great camp Andy, sleeping mat attached to the sleeping bag, Rab bringing lightweight camping to another level 👊👍🥃
Another great video mate stunning beauty up there on the North York Moors definitely on this do list love the videos stay safe 👍👍👍👍
Good to see some different countryside to what we have in New Zealand where we're a bit spoiled.
That sleeping bag looked a bit thin.Maybe you wouldn't need the hoodie in bed and the bivvy bag if you had a proper tent and sleeping bag.
What do you burn in your cooker?
Interesting vid .Cheers mate.
bag is 900fp & rated down to 0 deg's..fuel i use in my stove is bio ethanol..burns a lot cleaner & less odour.
Great video, Andy. It's a lovely spot for a camp and I look forward to seeing the sleep system when it arrives in the near future.
A.T.B
Just started the vid, but great idea!
Great video again I look forward to the next one
Really like the shelter Andy, very versatile bit of kit, hope the new bag worked for you.
Looks a cracking location, and great gear. Always a good video from you. Staying out in that weather will put hairs on ya chest!
Class as always mate. 👍
Looks an interesting combo, I'm sure big Agnes or Nemo do a similar sort of thing but Rab are best for designing for the UK climate I think for sure. Great video TFS David
Brilliant video, love the crickets shape. Love the sleeping mat and bag combo. I have a walk in mind from chop gate. Thanks Craig
several different routes you can do to different areas from chop gate craig..
Nice one in our local hill training area. Round Hill, Is a lovely area, very open Heather Moor land which you would expect, but I'm. Sure you will find a nice spot.👍
Great vid again andy
I upgraded to Leki poles as previous poles weren’t as long which was a problem being tall. Managed to get a camp in up Fairbrook Naze recently, before weather came in. Fantastic hearing grouse but still scare the crap out of me when they fly off suddenly 😂
I love the sound of the curlew. Ours are just arriving in the Peak District
yeah ive just been in the peaks this week seen & heard them which is always good..
Great video Andy. It really is a grand spot up there. 👍 The North York moors gets so overlooked by other areas such as Peak Dales etc. Really is an amazing area 👌
it does get overlooked the NYM but its a great place to explore..
We camped in that exact spot! Had a few ticks like, so wouldn’t fancy it in a tarp
Yet another outstanding video Andrew. Pretty much my neck of the woods..as I am a little further up the coast past Roseberry Topping. You are the master of camping minimals and essentials. My budget does not stretch to Rab gear..more like 1.8kg army surplus Arctic bag and bivi..but it gets the job done. Thermals and spare socks is always a good rule of thumb ! Keep 'em coming and looking forward to your Spring and Summer outings. Cheers.
ill say same as i always do the gear you use is relative as long as you get out there & you're enjoying it that's all that matters..
Great spot that. Interesting bit of kit with joining mat and bag together, certainly different - surprised no-one has done it before. Never been to the North York Moors, you make it look very tempting. ATB Roger
NYM is an area that underestimated theres lots to explore & some grand places.
Enjoyed this post.
What shelter is that, please?
I use Tyvek as a ground cover as it breathes as well as being waterproof & very lightweight - but it’s main advantage is that it’s not as slippery as plastic plus you can pop it in the washing machine which also makes it softer.
the shelter is the MLD cricket chris.
@@AndrewBeavers thank you.
Nice camp, that bag will be pricey, can’t wait to see, as my neutrino pro 400 is 900 grams so I hope they do a long and I can afford it !!!!
Cheers
Look some tidy bits of gear them mate. Another class video as always.
Take it easy.
Liam
Spot on that Andy, cracking place to pitch, love the set up too👌. How’s the cricket in the wind? Looks to be a fairly strong shelter, looked like the Rab test kit seemed to keep you warm 👍, some great views from where you camped, atb Mick 👍
great shelter the cricket..worst its seen was 50mph gusts on cadair idris last summer..stood strong & impressed me tbf..
I think looking over Great Fryupdale would be a nice spot to camp, it's after you leave the Lion Inn Blakey going towards Glaisdale on the Coast to Coast route Andrew.
thanks howard ill take a look at that.
If three was how they would feel
Great video, as always, pal. I do love the NYM and have a few wild camps planned for later in the year over Levisham area. Even air traffic control (aka the wife) has said she will join me as it's her favourite place. This may get dodgy 😂😂😂
Catch you on t'fells one day, tek care. 😊
skelton tower from levisham is a nice little area to camp done it a few times..great views off down the valley looking towards the hole of horcum.
@@AndrewBeavers great minds think alike 😀 Skelton Tower is the one spot the wife has specifically stated she wants to try her first wildcamp.
@PeakFreakUK haha..Nice one you'll enjoy it lovely spot..I forget what the Inn is called in the village but good parking just to side of there..don't worry either if you're approached by farmer whilst there he's a friendly bloke who'll happily have a chat with ya & is fine with campers being there as long as you leave the place as you find it.
Love the style of your videos, very informative and minimal. Need to get myself one of the windshields you have for your cooking setup, anyone know what it's called?
the windshield is called a stormin norman cone no longer available unfortunately..
@@AndrewBeavers That's a shame :( Thanks for the response!
Yet again great video beautiful Yorkshire views
If your interested amazon are doing a deal on new Dji mini 3 just order one for self thanks again andrew keep safe 😊
Great video! What light do you use in your videos? Thanks
if you're referring to the light i use whilst recording at night its a ulanzi vlogging light from amazon.
Use the cricket year round, had it out on Bleaklow in the snow the other month, great shelter. Be interested to see more info on the new kit, cracking video as always.
yeah love my cricket chris..im looking at getting some kind of bug net bivvy to use in it over summer..the mat & bag have been on test so cant really say much about it.
@@AndrewBeavers Totally understand you can't say anything about the kit, I'm just nosy 🤣
I use an MLD Bug bivvy 2 with my Cricket in the summer or the Katabatic bivvy. Both great bits of kit
@@AndrewBeavers I also have and use the solo bivi, to many bivis 🤣😂😁
Great video as usual, can you tell me what make your red midlayer hoodie is ?
its a senchi designs an american comapany.
That bag and mat combo look interesting Andy but i have got a funny feeling that without the Kloke bivy bag it wasn't ideal in these current temps but looking forward to hearing your views. I used the ThermArest version of a similar type of system( Questar 20 -6 bag) at the moment and thats got those matt strap things on too but it won't work with my X Therm because that mat is too wide and this weekend i took the Uberlight mat out but ended up taking the mat straps off because they attach to the Sleeping bag with these tiny stiff plastic things that you have to pass through some loops and i was paranoid that they might penetrate the Uberlight with the martial being so thin . I love the Questar and ThermArest combo and i am warm enough down to zero degrees just with my HH lifa thermals on but Saturday night on top of the mounds next to Alport Castles with the Uberlight and a reflective matt beneath just wasn't cutting it and i ended up putting my Rab down trousers , Rab Booties, PHD Vest, Mountain Hardware Ghost whisperer jacket and even then i was only just ok ....X Therm is coming back out next weekend and i am storing the uberlight until summer.
It's a great little set up Olan & the bag itself was quite warm at 900fp & rated to zero..id only put the bivvy over due to some drizzle blowing under the tarp at one point but i dropped the beak of the cricket down too which minimized that..that set up with the straps on the bag only fits that size mat the regular which is on the small side for me,it wouldnt fit on my LW thermarest..ive been back down to the guys at Rab with feedback on the system & are taking on board what ive had to say about it..the version that will be going on sale will be coming my way again at some point so looking forward to that..
@@AndrewBeaversInteresting..... I will keep my eyes open for that when it comes out and no doubt find some excuse to tell myself that "I really really need it ".........if the coin collection isn't going on beer and fags its much better spent on good gear and i am sure when its all put on eBay when i am gone there will be enough cash left over to chuck me in a skip and get me carted off to the tip. I was thinking that these type of bags should have different size sleeping mat attachment straps available so we can buy the ones for whatever width mat we use. I am only 5'10" but i like a wide and long matt so i am not always having to fidget about when i turn over during the night . I dont get on with quilts but i do like my Thermarest Questar with the way the down is distributed so that the majority is in the places where you need it most and minimal amounts beneath you. Its much lighter than the 600 bags i have and performs the same.
Hi Andy, is that the Rab Borealie you have on at the beginning of the video? Thanks
hi Andrew yeah it is is the Rab borealis hoody..
Great video Andy, sorry if it has been asked before but what make and model is the red top you are wearing?
its a senchi designs theyre an american company.
I need to take a leaf out of your book Andy and head to the NYM because of this bastard weather! I've had to abandon twice recently 😭. I was 17 the last time I visited Round Hill and I remember it being very heathery. I've also heard recently that there is a heavy gamekeeper presence 🤔. Anyway, perhaps someone who knows the area well will provide more up to date information. Great vid pal. 👍
if the forecast is looking crap elsewhere yo can almost guarantee over the nym will be better, not always but more often than not..its a quite overlooked area too ive enjoyed my trips over there.
Andy I have been after some water bottle pouches like yours for ages! Can you tell me where to get some please? Thanks in advance.
Hi Timmy the pouches on the atompack are sewn in as standard on all their packs now.
Bag and pad look decent pal, not too sure about that zip though. 🤔👍🏻
enjoyed using it pal shame its to go back but ill be receiving the final version too 😉
@@AndrewBeavers Nice one pal 👌🏻
👍
Andy me duck, what fuel are you using there sir?
i use bio ethanol ian..burns cleaner & less odour.
Ey up bud, what mountain weath app type do you use?
i use 3 when checking the forecasts..MET mountain..MWIS & BBC..sometimes theyll differ but the MWIS is usually reliable.
@@AndrewBeavers thank you buddy
