  • Nissan Xterra 2021 Facelift Overview
    The Nissan X-Terra nameplate made a comeback to the region, with an all-new model coming out in 2021. Under the hood, it now gets a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The base SE is a two-wheel-drive model with hydraulic power steering, power mirrors, power windows, push start engine, fabric seats, auto headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, roof rails, manual A/C, rear A/C, offroad monitor, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Titanium model can be had in two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. Additional features include LED fog lamps, headlamps leveler, automatic dual-zone A/C, wireless charging, and rear USB ports. The top Platinum model gets leather seats, an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Navigation, power-adjusted leather seats, and 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels. Standard safety features include driver and passenger airbags, ABS, hill assist, stability and traction control, and brake assist.
    Price When New In UAE
    AED 99,900 - 100,000 (X-Terra SE 2WD)
    AED 108,800 - 109,000 (X-Terra Titanium 2WD)
    AED 119,800 - 120,000 (X-Terra Titanium 4WD)
    AED 133,800 - 134,000 (X-Terra Platinum 4WD)
    The truck-based SUV is essentially a facelifted version of the Terra.
    Guess who’s back? Now with a hyphen in its name, the Nissan X-Terra returns following a five-year hiatus. It’s not the Xterra you used to know as the SUV doesn’t ride on the F-Alpha platform anymore, but rather uses the same underpinnings as the Nissan Navara. What we’re dealing with here is basically a facelifted version of the Terra, a three-row SUV introduced in 2018.
    Launched recently in the Middle East, the 2021 X-Terra gets revised LED headlights and taillights along with an updated grille compared to the Terra it’s based upon. These changes are also planned for the donor SUV as well and continue inside the cabin where a new nine-inch infotainment system has been installed and the HVAC controls look more modern.
    An 11-inch flip-down screen with HDMI input offers entertainment for the whole family (well, except for the driver), while the second-and third-row occupants have their own climate controls mounted in the ceiling. Nissan’s “Zero Gravity” seats for the front and middle rows promise to reduce fatigue during extended journeys, and the second and third rows are positioned slightly higher to provide a better look at the big screen.
    The interior layout is configurable thanks to a 60/40 split-folding second row and a 50/50 split third row. Fold them down and you get a flat cargo floor for increased luggage capacity, and there are armrests between the middle-row seats with a pair of cupholders, bringing the grand total to 10. Leather upholstery extends all the way to the back on higher-end trim levels, and there's also a digital rearview mirror.
    In the Middle East, Nissan will sell the 2021 X-Terra with a four-cylinder 2.5-liter gasoline engine developing 165 horsepower and 241 Newton-meters (178 pound-feet) of torque. That doesn’t sound like much for such a large and heavy SUV, but the silver lining is drivers get some serious off-road kit. The 4WD models have an electronic locking rear differential and a brake limited-slip differential, along with Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist systems.
    The seven-speed automatic transmission has a 4LO mode for when the going gets tough, but if you don’t need any of the off-road upgrades, the 2021 X-Terra is also available in a 2WD configuration for all the trim levels but the range-topping Platinum offered only with 4WD.
    It remains to be seen whether Nissan will extend the X-Terra’s availability beyond the Middle East and sell the truck-based SUV in other markets where it would slot between the X-Trail / Rogue and the Patrol / Armada.

    Good review. But it would have been nice with some comments. Like how is the driving behaviour, engine noise, seating comfort etc, Also is it only a facelift (lights) or are there any mechanical updates ? Nevermind. when it comes to the Philippines it will be reviewed in detail for sure.

      Glad you watched the video Tony. I'm not much of a speaking guy that's why i do visual reviews :D
      Anyways relating to your question:
      Driving Behavior: it is quite responsive with good turning radius. It doesn't make you feel driving a big car while touching corners as it's sheer size is concerned.
      Engine Noise/Cabin noise: it's a little too much for me when you touch the higher RPMs
      Seat Comfort: Excellent seat comfortability for the driver, you sit straight and a little high which gives you the full visual of the road and makes you feel in command.
      The front fascia is what i liked most about this car. As compared in it's Mid Sized Urban SUVs it should give a tough competition to it's rivals. However, a big bummer is that you don't get a sunroof which is quite disappointing.
      You can get the remaining details in the description.
      Hope it helps :)

      For some countries they do come in Diesel but for UAE you get the 2.5L Petrol Option in every trim (base, titanium or platinum)

    Very detailed reviews. . I am confused between fortuner and x terra. For budget this car seems good. Any suggestions if 2WD is good option in this?

      Go for X-terra, some cool offers are currently running with Nissan (Al Rostamani) here. However, if you're looking to use it for fully off-roading purposes then i would suggest fortuner

    2.5 L engine is okey enough for this big car?!.. it weighs more than prado..!!!and how is the ride comfort if compared to fortuner 2.7?!

    • @CarK1992
      @CarK1992  Před 3 lety +2

      definitely not okay, but yeah it would amaze you through the mid revs. Personally i didn't noticed a lot of difference between 2.7L Prado and this one in terms of acceleration. However, in terms of cabin noise this is far better than Fortuner and similar to Prado

    • @CarK1992
      @CarK1992  Před 3 lety

      Nissan's claims 11.4 km/l .. however you can expect around lower range of 10 - 9 km/l in mixed range

    • @CarK1992
      @CarK1992  Před 2 lety +1

      yes the 2wd approx would cost you around 105k including everything. However, there might be an increase in price in UAE as the inbound 2022 stocks are short in stock

      @CarK1992  Před 3 lety

      I wont say 'a lot' but yes the new 2021 X-Terra uses sound-dampening acoustic glass that keeps road noise low which is a advantage over it's rivals :)
