Thank you guys for picking up all that litter! Mad respect, gotta keep our earth and trails nice and clean
Thanks brother, always make a difference even if it's a tiny bit. 🙏
I couldn't ride with that fork, it'd be a constant guessing game as to how it's going to perform. There must be something wrong with it to lose pressure like that.
Loving Wolfmans shirt, man after my own heart👍
Great review as always guys, take care 😎🍻👍
Always a good day when a new Wolftick video comes out. You guys have come so far.
Thanks🙏👍
Love the real time reviews. Just awesome. Your honesty and passion rocks. Thanks dudes!
Thanks, man! We always love your enthusiasm❤️ 👍
Great to see another episode. Hope yall did ok with all that crazy weather up there!
We are good thanks Wes, driving through some less fortunate areas on the way to the gym makes us feel terrible man.
So glad the weather getting more conducive to riding which means more wolftick videos
You know it👍
Thank you for your good content ❤️
Great video, I eat one of those stand up burritos every time I go there. Just rode that trail a few weeks ago and enjoyed it after the climb to the top. Great flow and I'm glad it was pretty dry for you.
Great video again nice to see some sun think I will stick to rockshox recon sliver RL thanks
For show!! Thanks Clive, funny your thoughts on the sun lol, very awesome to see!
Hello boys. At work, so can't watch new video. I've read there was storm in your part of the States. I hope you guys and your loved one are safe and well. stay safe my friends. all the best from Sarajevo/Bosnia!
I had reallyy hoped this fork would have done better. I really wanted to try one cause it comes with a option of red lowers! I still like your fork rating system cause its a consistant rating system which actually gives usable information.
Being a China made fork, that air chamber may not have oil inside to lubricate the piston which will make it lose air. seems the damper/rebound cartridge also takes a while before the settings kick in after making change. It may need to be cycled a few times before it works on your desired setting
He's a big boy Wolfman, classic.
😂😂💪
Ozark trail came out with a 24in bike now. Just found one at my local Walmart. Called the "Glide" $198
I liked the public service announcement regarding trail maintenance. I spend time on trails and am shocked at how "nature lovers" can be so neglectful at times. As for the fork, it seems to me this could have been a defective model.....it happens sometimes. It would be interesting to get it serviced or replaced and retest. It looked so promising and was such a let down. I'll stick with my Manitou Markour (on my Axum DP) which is great.
I also replaced the coil forks on our eBikes with a KRSEC XCS air fork (on my wife's) and a Bucklos XM air fork on mine, and those are good enough for green trails and gravel rail trails, which is where we mainly ride those. I like the trails in that park you are in.
For radios, we bought Cobra radios that have a 21 mile range (in clear unobstructed terrain) but also have a VOX feature. The VOX feature, used with a head set (the size of ear buds), activates the radio when you talk. No need to stop, hand hold the radio or press a button.
Man I'm so glad I bought a used (pulloff) Rockshox Silver TK Boost instead of this one lol
That's a good fork.👍
I was waiting on this test. But thoses Himalo forks need 15ml of oil in each fork lowers, and the pressurized chamber needs 5ml. They come from factory empty.
It's a grease only fork, with sealed cart damper. Much like most modern Suntours like the Aion or Durolux. It doesn't need bath oil in there. All it'd do is make the parts a mess for when it's time to strip and clean. Oil goes on foam rings in the seals only.
I took a look on the 160mm aliexpress page of this fork. What some people are doing is taking it apart as soon as they get it, and replacing the inner foam rings, the seals and the oil. They didn't complain after that. So maybe your problem might be related to insufficient lubing?
Bummer! I have a ZTZ on my fat bike I opened up the air chamber by taking the cap out and I noticed some thick oil like jelly liquid type flued they put in it and as the fork compresses it coats the inside nice and it don't lose any air, Maybe take your cap off see if they have anything in there to lube it and if not put just a little like a 3ml or so of some thick fluid oil and this may make it work better. Also what stem neck was that on your ledge? Thanks and nice test as always!
Paulette and Jay Mehta like the bench so much they put their names on it. Imagine Wolf and Tick on a bench....
Some forks are weird with their air pressure due to their negative air chamber only being filled during compression or some shit like that. That might be the reason that it loses pressure at first, but can now hold it much better.
I was thinking the exact same.
When you got to the trail and found the pressure was down, it was an indicator it had failed. The mid-ride pressure drop was way too much too. There's no way you can rate this faulty fork. I'd remove it from the board until you get a replacement, then head out again.
Anyone watching the video from your cam, facing the fork in action, would immediately exclaim "WTF?!?!" .
We may look at getting another fork 👍
I am more surprised suntour raidon scored so low. Personally, I thought it's pretty good. Got the recon RL boost the other day, will need to install and compre with raidon and see if I feel the same as you fellas. Oh right, this video is about that himalo 36 boost, yeah, not surprised it performed poorly, just glad Jeremiah survived with no injury.
Can you do a video of slacking out the GT aggressor by flipping the seat post attachment upside down
I've been waiting for this test. Thankfully I never bought them. I've been looking for a new fork to replace my SR Suntour XCR 32. I want more travel but don't have a lot to spend. These clearly are not the answer. Thanks for the review. 👍
You got it brother, we did send the seller a message due to air leaking.
Don’t buzz me to bother you and then be bothered by my botherment😆😆awesome review guys and nice job cleaning up that trail Tick 🚮🚮😀😀👍👍
Absolutely brother, damn Wolfman knows how to push my buttons!! Thanks Dan 💪
Maybe the chassis would worth it if the bushing were not plastic and if you had spare internals to put on it, but most of the time you get poor lubrication, basic air spring and crap rebound/damper unit with those cheap forks.
If you're tight on cash, go 2nd hand with a reputable brand instead of that (ZTZ, Himalo, Zoom, etc...) .
Any Air Rockshox would be better, and Suntour got some great stuff too (Raidon, XCR34 air, Aion 35, and sometimes some Auron and Durolux if you are lucky).
On that note, I think you really need to test a basic Rockshox 35!
Boy you guys are packing some big burritos! Some of these forks are scary....
You know what they say about men who eat big burritos 🌯 🤣
I have the same fork in 29". I loved it, best "budget" fork I owned. I hate to say it but when you guys did the shop test and pulled real hard to get the stanchion to max extend you might have nicked a seal or crushed something that is allowing air to escape! Keep it up guys you're doing great work!
Wait wait wait have y'all been to spider mountain?! I've seen no such video if so. Going back to check, it's super fun. Ive been once with my budget Durham 👌👌👌
🤣No!! Lol Our boy Wes Graves sent me this shirt on one of the last mailtimes! I always talk about him and the park because he and his son ride there lol.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS We definitely need to get y'all out here I know youve got hella supporters and fans out here in TX
It’s awesome if your burrito stands up as long as it doesn’t walk away🌯🌯😆😆
🤣🤣 Have not experienced that just yet!! Lol
Omg, you guys know about Super Taqueria here in the Bay Area California?! Hell yeah!
Dude! Super Taqueria is the absolute best! People try to tell me about Chipotle, and I just laugh at them because they don't know what's up. Their Super burritos and their tortas are the best, period!
Chipotle??? They trippin! You know what’s up!
I think 136 is fair to call 140. Lots of bikes are marketed that way, round up.
Are you sure the air wasn’t lost due to attachment and de attachment of the shock pump? It happens, I usually over compensate 5-10 PSI to land it right where it should be.
Did you cycle the fork multiple times on air up? That will also drop air pressure?
❤ Will good afternoon
Good afternoon.
Can you provide an update in what happened with the seller? Were you able to get a replacement?
Ahoy!? I don't even say that but maybe I'll start. Haha
next video please. maintenance on this fork
Hi this fork is serviceable??
ayy that cameraaa
🤣🤣
So this doesn't speak to dropping 40 psi on the way to the trail, or how deep into the travel the fork was riding. But, in my experience and according to some places like GMBN, you can lose around 10 psi when you connect the shock pump as it fills the tube. I think all that depends on the pump and you guys know all this I'm sure, just thought I'd mention it.
You guys gotta come to California and try real hole in the wall places to get better Mexican food lol
Are forks supposed to bottom out on the "bigs" ?
Not necessarily, it's the amount of preload before and how well it maintains throughout the jump. Then of course the landing, if it bottoms out not a negative or a positive as fat as scoring. I know a fork should bottom out on bigs every now and then.
10:00 maybe the top cap, well not the cap, but the cap that has the valve is not tight enough and o-ring not sealing properly
Possibly???
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS maybe, idk
Did you give that burrito a Wolf man Dino test?
I did actually 🤣
Himalooooo!!!
🤣👍
24:20 Subaru Unlock!! :)
🤣100% correct 👍
I bought this fork once in a version with a travel of 180mm. But the real travel was 160mm. After complete disasembly it turned out to be structurally similar to suntour Aion. In practice, the feelings were completely different. Heavy, with fake fabric travel, no oil seals, clearance between upper lega and the slides from the novelty. It’s not good fork.
Whenever I'm not paying attention and the Wolfman is on the radio and I look at the screen, my immediate thought is "wtf is wrong with the Wolfman?!!?? Is he having a stroke?!?! Oh it's a still picture of him...." You need a better picture for Wolfman, he looks like a fish out of water... lol
Himalo 36 compare fox 36 which one better
I think I'd just spend a little extra on a "low" end rockshox fork. Better forks and easier to find parts.
Just my opinion....but I think there is more travel in that fork probably a stuck stanchion, but not showing the 140 travel is a dead giveaway to the fork having air pressure issues.
Man I hope your right, we sent a message to seller
Your lucky it's dry out there! Everything is mud right now.
Mud out here right now.
We just got done with tornadoes 🌪.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Yes i saw that. It flattened a lot of homes. Who was playing at the heavy metal concert when the roof caved in.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I'm glad you guys got through it
Snakes are coming soon also ......
Not sure on wolf man’s nude colour tee shirt…. Thought he had a massive Guinness tattoo on his chest for second…
Scores are good. Junk is junk.
💯 Sent a message to seller
I’ve never seen you test a fork that packs down so badly! You bottomed it on the smalls at one point….
It was soooo bad. We are hoping to get it working better.
Next rockshox 35 gold
I'm trying to get The Tick to edit the Initial Impressions of the RockShox. We have been out three times to finish filming the Realtime Review, and something happens to keep it from happening.🤷♂️
Hi guys it's great that you test these forks but really they are absolute rubbish. I wouldn't want to part with $225 for these i've seen other channels test and disassemble these things and wow they are bad. You might be lucky to get one out of ten that actually works!! But for how long???
That was some sandwich you were eating there guys
Was that a burger reference?🤔 If so, bravo 👏.🤣👍
It's not a burrito if it doesn't have the aluminum foil 😂
You got that right!🌯👍
I desagree, Redo test with oil in it.
I have ear that thoses Himalo 36mm were so great, there is a 180mm version. Apparently thoses fork with oil are top of the line feel.
Can't. We can't open up the fork. It's against the rules. Maybe if we start opening up the forks, we can try it. The forks are supposed to be ready to use. Nothing was indicated that they need to be opened up before use. They do seem to be oiled well, considering the oil lines on the stanchions. Thanks
BFB MTB has service them on CZcams. And they were greased but not oiled. and the air cartrige is servicable and is dry. Cartrige need 5ml oil and legs lower needs 15ml. We really want to see how they score against the big expensive one since they are rated for Downhill. And please test the Himalo 36mm 180mm later on with oil!
@Wolftick Would you do it with the highly anticipated 180mm Himalo 36?
By looking at your ears I can tell you spent some time on the mats
Still do brother lol. I teach, train and coach no go jiu jitsu. Been in the sport since I was 7 lol.
Once you get 21k subs, you oughta send each of us 2000$ for Mexican food and bikes.
actually 200k each just to be safe.
🤣🌯
smh cheap ciggarillos
💯Trash! Lol
If it can’t hold a setting … not useful
It looks like it bottomed out most of the time.
It did.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS The cartridge may to be tightened up or you thought it was valve. Was there a cap with an O ring in the cap?
Dont buy or use junk forks. Buy cheap, buy twice!
That's why we do what we do, right?.. We all want to know if it's a diamond in the ruff or just ruff.🤣
Buy nice, or buy twice is what one of the computer guys I watch says all the time.
I love to see cheap fork reviews
I'm glad I sent you that orange magic wand 🪄 so you never get a flat again so I never see you use it hahaha your welcome 😅
These are $96usd in China. You don't get to buy twice, you get to buy 5 or 6 times 🤣
Dang now I want a big ole burrito. Wolfman getting all riled up on the radio was a hoot.
Remember to Live, Love and Laugh fellas.
The Himalo😢😢 I'd pass on it. Seems like it is defective for it to lose air.
🦥🦥
Just like the bench tells us too 😉🤣🌯👍
