Why did Axial stop making this?

- Horizon Hobby is the worst thing to happen to Axial. They used to make all sorts of cool stuff, but now they only make crawlers... Granted, they make some of the best RC rock crawlers on the market, but why don't they make anything as legendary as the Exo Terra, or the Yeti? In this episode of 10th Scale Garage, we take a look back at some of the forgotten Axial legends, and out the Yeti through its paces.

Vattera Twin Hammers was awesome and Feiyou 6*x6 was crazy fun
I think many people wanted this rig to be more a singular focused rc when it’s actually multi focused as a rock racer. It may get over rocks but not slowly enough for the crawlers!
Your 100% right about how things are being marketed. You notice Redcat didn’t get sucked in as they are still making the awesome Wendigo. Awesome video, awesome forgotten truck, and very valid points. I love these rock racers!
I love my Yeti Jr. It's a fun ripper on dirt, tarmac, and even drifting.
The Yeti was awesome! I had a blast with mine. The XL was fun too but I sold them both when they got discontinued.
I have a Yeti that I won in a Facebook raffle, and it's loaded with upgrades. Vanquish, MIP, Proline, SSD and RC4WD all over it, and it keeps killing steering servos, by stripping the teeth off the servo horn, despite having 2 servo savers!!! It's the most expensive paperweight I have, and would love to keep it running. Finding original parts in the UK is hard. I've been looking for a body set and rear cage for a reasonable price for 2 years, with no luck.
It's a shame Horizon seems to have the power to have so much influence over the hobby, when really, it's should be us customers who tell them what we want, not the other way round!!
But isn't that the way of the world at the moment? Being fed a diet of social media that 'influences' what we think we want, by showing us how good life can be if we buy this product, or that brand.....!!
Just get out there and enjoy life. It's not a rehearsal, and you don't get to try again.
I'm determined to get my Yeti working, and seeing your video is the inspiration I need.

I got into the hobby just after Axial discontinued the Yeti and couldn't find them anywhere. I wish they would bring it back. I love my crawlers but I want something like this for forest trails with the kids. It's fast and fun and can be slow with a good sensored system. Perfect middle ground between a crawler and go fast rigs.
I still have my score trophy truck. Axial had some cool rigs. I’m hoping to find a 1/10 yeti to add to the collection
Totally agree! I love old Axial. I have the Exo Terra, Yeti, Yeti Score, and 3 Yeti XLs.
I've owned several of them. Make sure to upgrade the bellcrank and trailing arms. The rear AR60 axle is decent but beeftubes help and aluminum lockouts are a must!
In typical Arrma fashion this Axial has great attention to detail😂 i have been looking for a deal on a good used XL.
Thanks for keeping the yeti alive. Also to note there wasn’t much aftermarket support while others held the limelight for upgrades
The Axial Wraith Spawn... I wanted one so badly but unfortunately, they discontinued it literally months before I was able to pick one up.

Another great video. After watching this I picked up a second hand one, but has a brushed system, what brushless system do you think would be a great option, was the rtr a 3s brushless system. Cheers love watching you guys.
I've got the yeti jr, want to get the mini yeti score. And I've got a 1/10 yeti score with the two speed conversion installed, so much fun to rip around

I really wish the vaterra twin hammer was still in production. One of my favorite rc crawlers to run.
I love my Yeti XL..missed out getting the 10th scale..sold out. Cool truck.

I love the 380 as well. Fazon 6S is another awesome one not produced anymore!

Oh yeah forgot , horizon killed the yeti along with alot of other good RC’S. Off the top of my head the Vaterra line up gone with the exception of the v100 which they rebranded as the Losi v100 . I want the Vaterra suburban ascender- they can call it whatever they want

I built a Yeti SCORE kit and customized it to the hilt.... then got too scared to run it because they killed all support for it. So it collects dust in the shed now.... I bought a Traxxas UDR to replace it but again, I just am too afraid to run it because I dont know if this platform will survive, the death of the Yeti really scared me and made me unsure of the future so I am afraid to run my UDR, it has sat in my room on display for a year and a half in front of the slider just itching to go out and play....I had even bought new batteries for it back then which probably have gone bad now...
Hpi firestorm flux. Love that truck and still regret I sold it to this day. Hpi makes a model that’s similar to it today, but not the same.😢

I brought a arrma kraton 4s when thay 1st got released n touch wood I bash it to the max and more some n only broken 1 front left shock in all the years iv owned it

I'm with you, brother. Horizon has monopolized the rc hobby and totally ruined some great original names in RC. Now you don't buy a Losi/Arrma/Axial etc, you buy a Horizon. And they make them just good enough to perform the advertised task, for a little while. All the cool factor is gone and no more original unique, awesome quality stuff. It's sad, and Horizon Fu*^ing sucks in my opinion.
I‘d buy a new Jeti right away.

Sadly Losi took over those types of trucks still pretty good brand but feel the entry price on Losi is just a bit to much for me
