RR does it to themselves, between the bad website , overpriced items and poor customer service I haven't bought anything from them in years. Fun show doods.
The grace and humility you guys have is exceptional and admirable. Not many people reasonably check themselves so eloquently and still make a reasonable point. Kudos on response to Bardwell.
For the cost of Rotor Riot Rampage, I could switch to HDZERO digital system with vtx's. I'll save my money.
I mean those *are* two different things, but as someone who so badly wants to set myself up with HDZero I feel that example 100%.
Some people definitely feel that rampage is absolutely worth the price for them though and despite Rotor Riot starting as something most of us trusted and loved that doesn't mean we can *expect* a growing company to make the right choices when it comes to the price of things or how they interact with customers.
@Weewd with the hobby of FPV already being expensive, hard to see the use of a one-off trip over upgrading my gear. If it was halved in cost, it wouldn't be a harder choice.
That pass through is 100% "Am I being mugged?" mode. I like it.

Castle crash is freaking amazing bro, speaking from experience, just a bunch of cool ass people camping in a renaissance camp ground partying and flying drones, there are some decent Bandos surrounding it, totally worth the $50!

I think most people where like myself and just wanted to help fund Bot and his FPV dream, and see how it plays out. It was not about myself or anyone else but Bot exploring his ideas. Anyone expecting anything else and holding their breath is mentaly challenged. I hope Bot makes money off it some day more than anything else. I may visit some day, but probably not. It's on the other side of the country.
Even at $450 for 2 days they lost me. Like bruh come on. I have a full time corporate job in Finance and can’t even justify the cost.
I guess if meeting all of the RR celeb pilots and flying a mid spot is worth that much then go for it!
It's nice that Rotor Riot are planning a freestyle festival. But those prices are prohibitive even for expectators.

kudos great job going above and beyond with having the back bone and integrity to say if and when yall make a mistake. that's more than what 80% of people would ever do and I think that shows a lot of yalls character. these days people are just raised differently I guess. but props, I was on the other side of the boat and like a lot of what I see online I took the episode in question with a grain of salt. If they felt attacked, its cause they guilty of something!! As far as the park, all these people complaining, how many of them have offered to come help get it ready? Buying the land was only 1 step, there are plenty more after it.

It's all in the touch, I've found the picks themselves don't make a huge difference, at least across the spectrum of "good" picks. Though then again, that bionic finger might make it easier ... or harder ... I don't really know.

I kinda felt like they priced rotor riot in a way to keep attendance down. If everyone could afford to go it would be alot harder to get everyone flying and fully enjoying it. Not saying it's cool but that's what I thought 🤔
We donated because we believe in Botgrinder's dream and want to watch it progress.
On the other hand, that was a donation so he should be entitled to do whatever he needs with the land if he ever thinks it's time to close it. Hopefully that won't happen but it would be in his right.
It’s definitely a big chunk of change but I think that $800 is like four days of camping or three nights four nights something like that as well as four days worth of flying and all your meals so it’s camping in the pilot Pass.
even at the world famous north west fpv park, from the vanover video, you have to sign a waver and get an invite. tho it wasnt crowd funded it is standard protocol.
I seen a episode where they said they had to raise the price to lower attendance to keep it fun and enough spaces for people to fly
If Rotor Riot paid you to throw a rotoriot, rampage on bot grinder's FPV park. That would be pretty cool all that money. They make to invest into the community. Would be the right choice for rotor riot to make rent from our own

I would say it's worth being factually correct on things once you have an audience of a decent size. I respect you guys for kind of "coming clean" and accepting you commented on the gut reaction and didn't have 100% factual info. It takes a lot to accept when you're wrong.
It's also clear you see the whole thing as two homies chatting shit on a discord call which is what makes the cast good at the end of the day.

I think Grim's comments about macbooks sum it up pretty much, it's expensive for sure but doesn't make it not worth paying for if you want it.
At the same time that is defo out of my price range, especially as an analog pilot who will be blasted out of the air no matter what channel discipline is in place. I'd rather spend that amount of cash travelling and staying in hotel, fly the best bando in my country instead.

There's basically no places to fly besides small public parks and I normally don't since people are often there. Most parks in my area are county or state parks which do not allow flying from within

I love botgrinder down to earth project than paying more than my monthly rent for 4 days at the other place. Even if bot then the manager he could make one open event every 3 months and it would still be more epic than woodstock and repeat as he please when he thinks its ready. No commitments to certain extent is still backed by better intentions and giving back . If i wouldnt be stuck in canada id go clear the poison iv and oak for free just because thats a past time here in canada.. im also afraid my shit would get taken at custom 😅
Also even if theres a small cover fee at the entrance im sure he would have people in mind and not just take then as a cashgrab. Im saying i thinks its all reasonnable . We used to make free parties or 5 $ events with my friends out in the woods and its way better than a 115$ a day , even if food is included some folks would still prefer the option of brigning a sandwitch 😂

For what it is its way to expensive and if you look at camping package no water, no electric hook ups so how do you charge your batteries go beg people that do have hook ups its a class system event Drew and his people think there better than most other people if they didn't this event would be one low price and everyone in tents or trailers of there own all together not a classed system to make money off of people there store is what that's for.

I'm disappointed the park is stuck behind some other property owner letting you have access to your own property at his whim, and the problems that causes that you have to work around. It's not ideal but you're just as disappointed about it and you're doing what you can with what you had. It's not like my broke ass could afford to pitch in on it at the time anyway. It's too far of a drive to show up in the current state but if things turn out well it might be worth a road trip in a couple years. I really hope you guys are able to polish this up into something special.

I find myself liking Bardwell less and less. Why did he respond to you guys in the first place? Seriously how many of your followers were ever going to $800 rampage in the first place? Zero. What I see is a corporation, backed by the biggest heavy hitters in FPV, using a massive platform to call out and accuse the little guys of “misinformation” about their insanely overpriced service. They know it’s really expensive and they are self conscious about it, that’s why they acting like they are. If they felt it was a good deal they wouldn’t have been so defensive. FPV park is a great idea and we know it’ll take time to get up and running, there’s always haters but, shit maybe the “know it all” will make an appearance and then you can charge $1100 a ticket for a fart sack and smoosh tent?? Right, that makes sense.

Im not good with words but I just want to say Rotor riots rampage is the highlight of my year. I first went when I was 16 years old and it was the first time I'd ever met another fpv pilot. Id actually say it changed my life and really locked me into the FPV hobby. Paying that $300 gave me access to close to 32 hours of potential fly time on the sickest property I have ever flown, with all these amazing pilots I would have never met. not to mention great food for a couple bucks. Even just meeting all of my fpv superheros like mr steele made the trip worth it. I went for my second time last year and it was even better than the previous. They update the flight lines every year as well as try to improve the experience, last year they had drift cars thanks to seajayefpv's crew. Last year me and my friend were given more value in giveaway equipment than we paid to be there.
I hope to see you there someday man. We'll be enjoying it for you in the meantime. 😁😁
@@realmcerono They brought it up because they do a podcast to 2200 people about events in the FPV world, those 2200 people are a very small sliver of Bardwells 325,000, 0.6% roughly, a very niche group of people who identify with them. Why would Bardwell or Rotor Riot care? Why even respond to such a small channel? Do you think “good guys” spend time looking for small guys to force public apologies out of? I don’t. I think it’s bully behavior.

It’s not a good look for their brand to be forcing people to publicly apologize and was unnecessary given the respective channel sizes, literally 0.6% of Bardwells channel may or may not have heard that a couple pot heads thought it was too expensive? if I go to rampage but don’t like my tent, will I be slandered to 325,000 people via a video about how I’m spreading misinformation? Why is there so much drama between everyone here in the last few months. FPV is suppose to be about flying and building with friends. Its a peaceful hobby that needs to have the public image adjusted away from everyone bitching and back to FPV. I speak for no one else but myself but I'm tired of seeing all the youtube fpv videos being nothing about fpv and only being a place someone can seat and talk shit behind a camera. I don't care who said what or what something is going to cost. It's called the free market and if someone takes a dog turd and can make $850 from that turd then GOOD FOR THEM AND I SAY ''go for it''. A company is made for only 1 reason and that is to make money if a company cant make money then that company is going to fail unless someone who loves that company loves it enough to keep pouring money into it to keep it a float. But again that is not my place to call that out and i could careless so please guys don't forget what you became popular doing. It was amazing flying and new ideas not acting like a bunch of women in a hair salon telling everyone the new gossip.

Prices are subjective, it is what it is. If it's too expensive they'll lose their customers.
It makes no sense to discuss pricing like this in my honest opinion, it's by definition different for everybody.
What you get out of going to such an event is also completely different for each person.

I've been flying for 8 or 9 years now. I switched from analog over to a DJI system this year and I chose DJI for a few reasons, but mostly because I fly fixed wing and for me, image quality, range and reliability are what I am looking for most as a wing pilot.
It's still expensive and bardwell needs to mind his own business
