Anchor forgets to look at the card on LIVE TV!

  • Something wild ALWAYS happens when I'm doing magic for Orlando news anchors Jason Guy and Jazmin Bailey. This time, my mistake was not telling her to look at the card she picked herself! Hilarity ensued! This is no big deal for me - people forget their cards often and it's easy for me to go with the flow. But this is live TV and I had to convince Jason quickly that he didn't have to tell her the card and we would still have a successful conclusion!

His spontaneous reaction / save just proves his performing skills =)

She was clearly embarrassed by her gaffe but you did what you could to make her not feel so bad about it, and she was such a good sport about it too.

If Penn & Teller ever retire they should pass the torch to Kostya and someone else... maybe Shin Lim or Javi Benitez

Wow that was one of the first tricks I ever learned. Never saw someone making the biddle trick that much entertaining.

Really nice presentation... There is just one thing that I don't get:
Kostya told her to show the card to her partner and to the audience...
But he didn't tell her to look at the card herself or memorize it.
So she was the perfect guest for the magician: She did exactly, what he asked her to do - not more and not less...
Was this intended by Kostya? Or was it just a mistake, that he didn't tell her to look at the card?

I actually believed him when he legit dropped the card and said that was an accident.
Also, that guy on the right should never give Kostya tip about what to do next, pretty sure Kostya Kimplat knows what to do in situations.

He legit dropped the card and it was an accident. If you think about it, that misdrop didn't add anything to the effect. Instead it broke the flow of the routine and even raised some suspicion from the more skeptical viewers. If it's part of the trick, it will be much more subtle, not so jarring like this.

A powerful lesson in why every nuance of a trick must be scripted.

That was fun. Live performance is an artform in itself.

The thing i dont like about tv magic is that they are in theyre role. They are not really themselves. Then as a magician all haves to go pretty quick depending on how much time you have.

@@oz_jones What I meant was that tv people must think of so much sorrounding them. For me to get the most out of an magic experience I just think its better to do magic in another enviroment. But thats just my opinion.

I know the trick and this is hilarious. You can actually see Kostya throw in an extra move because he could. She never saw her card and he knew that so he could show her 5 cards again to make the trick even better. If she knew he could never show her card. Maybe because of that improv he dropped the card later due to a lack of focus because he realised his awesomness, but thats maybe just grass talk.

1:12 was pretty deep actually. What if one day kostya started comparing how easily we're fooled by sleight of hand to how easily we're fooled by the government or the people in charge (whatever you want to call them) 😮😮
