  • Most of the beats on Yamaha's new PSR-EW425 have been carried over from its predecessor, the PSR-EW410. It was all good versatile stuff though, and this new incarnation gives us even more.

    I love the warmth of those punchy ancient Yamaha sounds. Combined with the synth engine's ability to make entirely new sounds, and the sampler, this thing is a great all in one solution. I saw comments mentioning that the sounds are a lot like earlier models in this same series, but definitely hear a lot of old AWM2 samples lurking in these beats ;) Alot of these sounds go straight back to the PSS-480 or older hehe - so i'd guess the same guys are producing these soundbanks, 35 years later! The same home-organ sensibilities shine through. Great, great demo of the rhythms, Glynn! Have a magnificent day!

      Excuse me, may i know what type of ears do you have??? It's sounds like a toy. Like it's 2022 and you still need to spend more than the price of an iPhone to get a decent sounding keyboard? This is shameful. Even SX600 is overpriced since it has the sounds of some old Tyros which this keyboard should have.

    Some of those grooves remind me of what I found on youtube as epic EDM or EDM bangors, etc. Great, it is almost bedtime and I am gonna have all this great beats in my head all night lol!

    Please make a comparision video between PSR-E473 and PSR-E463 as well as PSR-E373 by which we able to figure out that what are the improvements and what are the differences . . . . . , By the way , great video . . . . .

    yay some of my favorites from the psr e463, miss using that machine now its no longer in service, but hopefully there is something for me to navigate the menu system since my visual impairement prevents me from seeing the numbers, on the plus side I still have my psr e413 and while that can no longer connect to my pc sadly its pitch bend hasn't broke on me and is still going strong.
    there's also the psr e373 but god forbid why would anyone want to take a kiddies keyboard on a gig when you have this thing which could literally be the ultimate flagship yamaha now you can change the voices in some styles now including user styles, I should imagine bigger storage space now, sad to see no intro and ending doubles and variations like there is with the psr 8000, I may have to wait till next year when my local music retailer stocks these, at the moment they still have the psr e463 still on sail as well as the psr e453

  • @vbdx66
    @vbdx66 Před 2 lety

    Hi Glynn the grooves are really cool. I recognise some of them that were already on the PSR E433 but the DSPs are putting some new life into them. As for the styles, they’re pretty outdated IMHO. A nice feature, though, is that on the E473 you can now revoice them.

    • @GabrielRocha-po9fz
      @GabrielRocha-po9fz Před 2 lety

      I think the styles are not outdated, but the sound the keyboard makes. I was VERY excited for the E473 launch, but as I hear the sound in Gearfacts videos, it seems that Yamaha still reuses the same sound generator from the earlier PSR E400 models.
      They did some good improvements, but the sound is very similar (to not say the same) to their old keyboards: PSR E403, E413, E423, E433 and E443.
      I am disappointed, this only means I have to buy a PSR SX600 if I want better sounds, but I don't have the money hahaha

    • @vbdx66
      @vbdx66 Před 2 lety +1

      @@GabrielRocha-po9fz No, independently from the sound quality, I find that the styles themselves are outdated (I don’t like them better on the PSR SX line). If you want better sound, you might consider the new Casio’s CT-S500 and CT-S1000V.

    • @GabrielRocha-po9fz
      @GabrielRocha-po9fz Před 2 lety

      @@vbdx66 I understand you, because in general I don't use styles when playing the keyboards, so my opinion is very limited. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it, and I'll look for these new Casio's, if they have a sound like my CT-X800, they'll be very interesting 😎
      Just to confirm, are the styles on the PSR SX600 outdated too? The keyboard is a recent launch.

  • @danielloman7217
    @danielloman7217 Před 2 lety

    Do you know what the difference in sampling between the E463 and E473/E425 is? Since the 463 has a sampling zone and loopsection on the keys and the 463/425 "only" 4 buttons. Maybe it functions in a total different way, idk.... The knob on the 473 remind of my old PSR 400. It also had these 4 knobs on the right. When you pressed them they would play a programmed loop.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  Před 2 lety +1

      Good point, yep the 463 could actually hold more sample data (5 at a time, including chromatic). Both keyboards seem to have about 10 seconds max sample length.

  • @pianokeyjoe

    Ok.. I do not know much if anything about all these modern(post 1990s) Yamaha keyboards, but I do know this, I own a RS7000 and RM1X groove boxes, and I would LOVE to have all the groove beats off this keyboard here to put into my grooveboxes, which btw, would be capable of it! And my RS7000 is a groove sampler too?! Ah man!

      @@gearfacts The drums sound as cheesy as in the totally obsolete 90s keyboards. I have Yamaha PSR 530 from 1997 and I recognize these drums and a few other sounds. Terrible stuff.
