  • England and Coventry speedway legend Nigel Boocock comes 'home'.
Welcome to Part 1 of the legendary Booey's committal of ashes and final lap of his spiritual home, Brandon Stadium, Coventry, where he thrilled thousands for 16 years from 1959 until 1976.
Some 800 fans turned out on a chilly, grey day, Saturday, January 9, 2016, to give 'Little Boy Blue' the send off he so richly deserved after his family flew from their adopted home on Australia's Gold Coast with his ashes.
In Part 2 you will see former World Champion Peter Collins, accompanied by Nigel's young grandson Thomas (holding the ashes), doing a lap of the circuit, followed by more comments from Eric Boocock and some final words from Booey's devoted widow, Cynthia.

The whole ceremony was very emotional due to the stories from so many colleagues and peers, it was a great privilege to be able to experience this event at Brandon that day ! ❤️❤️❤️

A LOVELY LAD. MET NIGEL AND ERIC AT THE SYDNEY ROYALE SHOW GROUND EARLY 1960s. THE TEST MATCHES BETWEEN AUSTRALIA v ENGLAND WERE TERRIFIC. VERY HARD TO BEAT THOSE POMMIE BROTHERS. FOR MEMORY I THINK NIGEL MOVED TO AUSTRALIA AFTER HIS SPEEDWAY DAYS HAD FINISHED IN THE U.K. l JUST LOVED THE BOOCOCK BOYS. THANKS FOR THE GOOD TIMES FELLAS. NEVER FORGOTTEN. R.I.P. NIGEL.
