- Hello thanks for tuning in, in this video I will be turning a piece of Alaskan Birch Burl, the piece was given to me from my friend Mitchell Sanders, he had had it for some time and wanted to see it turned into something,
Hope you enjoy the video, I had fun working it up,

Good morning, Kimsey.
I enjoyed every minute of this video. This bowl is very beautiful. The wood, design and finish yielded a real winner. Gorgeous! The nature settings were an added bonus. Thanks for sharing your gift of wood turning.
Howdy Ray! Glad you liked it 😎
I’m getting some new nature clips ready for the next one, Hopefully I’ll have another turning video ready in the next week or two,
Take care buddy 🤝
I like your idea. A giant mushroom. Beautiful scenery.
Thanks for your thoughts on it Judith!
Glad you enjoyed the scenery, I’ve been capturing some for the next one 😎
Another piece of turned art from the master of thoughtful creations!...
Howdy Rob! Appreciate it buddy 😎
When I saw you working on the pedestal I thought you were going to add resin to the bowl and make a birdbath out of it. Your mushroom idea looks cool, too! I could see this piece was a lot of work and gave you some trouble but it ended up looking really great! Thanks for your tips on the shellac finish. As always the scenery you show was beautiful and the seaplane was very cool! Great video, Kimsey, keep'em coming! 😃
Phil
Thanks Phil!😎
And your very welcome on the finish info 😊
Birdbath was in my thoughts to ☝️😄 and

Very cool looking piece Kimsey and I think it makes a great looking mushroom
Very interesting on the spray on shellac. I have never tried it and have wanted to. Now I will pick up a can and see how it works. You sure got a nice finish!
Great footage at the end. I love your nature shots and the plane was cool as well.
Take care,
Gary
Thanks Gary I appreciate it and also your thoughts on the mushroom! 🍄 😎

Hi Kimsey, That is beautiful just beautiful.
I would leave it as a bowl as it is beautiful.
Great shot of the sea plane taking off and the other nature shots as well.
Great video my friend.

Cheers, Huw
PS Did I mention I think it looks beautiful. LOL.
Thanks Huw I appreciate it Buddy! 😎😄
Have a good one Glad you enjoyed the video 🤝
Very attractive art piece. Thanks for the tips on shellac. Finding the optimum orientation to express the wood is a times difficult. I line it just as a bowl.
Thanks Lee I appreciate it 🤝
And your very welcome on the shellac tips,
I like the shellac but I wish I could find some with less shine of the spray can stuff, I like the gloss shine but sometimes I do like a flat less shine finish,

Thanks Heather!😎😊
Hey Kimsey, great to see you - I can tell you had some fun with this one! I think you were very brave hollowing towards the end when it was getting thin!
I'm really glad you didn't use resin for the two voids - they really add to the looks of the bowl - totally stunning result! Looking forward to the next one buddy, take care.
Howdy Paul!
I was hoping I didn’t get a catch I was a little nervous about breaking it apart where that bark place was, Glad ya liked it 😎
I’ve got a small piece of ambrosia maple I poured some resin in cause it had a pretty big hole through the bottom, I haven’t turned one with resin in it as far as I can remember, it’s partially just got resin in the bottom of it maybe I’ll try to turn it pretty soon maybe on the next project, got a few different ones on my mind 🤔
Also got a piece of Black Walnut was thinking on, Have a good one buddy 🤝
That piece looks pretty amazing! Well done 👌
