  • This small tributary of the Amazon River in Peru leads to the Amazon Canopy Walk (about 100 miles from Iquitos). My guide thought he could steer the boat, but ... as you will see, he wasn't the best at it and the steering was eventually turned over to the boat driver.

Beautiful but the scary thing is that there are a lot of dangerous things right below the brown and murky blanket.

@@YunaOrganics nothing is as dangerous as a human but caiman and snakes are certainly something to worry about

I live in Loreto, Perú.. we swim in these waters... in groups and only during daylight. Also not these deep in the jungle... asking for trouble then! But let me tell you.. far more dangerous than black caimans or 25 foot anacondas.
Are the electric eels. They are everywhere, and if you get shocked while in the water, most likely you cardiac arrest, pass out and drown. 😉

@Coco_PR the only thing I’d worry about is getting deadly diseases like malaria from all the mosquitoes. Caimans, anacondas and piranhas aren’t really a problem

Yeah, what's the deal? Is this near the beginning of the river? I know that you can step over the Mississippi River in the far northern United States. I guess this is at about that point in the Amazon.
