If you know before watching the film that SRK is ill then you know the main twist of the movie and the story is spoilt for you.

Well you must watch the movie yourself instead. Naina, a child raised by single mother, is suffering from androphobia. SRK actually redeems her of the phobia, and Naina actually starts liking SRK. It's mutual, but a terrible incidence complicates their equation when SRK is diagnosed of Cancer. A fear that a rediscovered Naina might end up going back to androphobia after SRK's demise, he decides to give their relationship a better closure before he dies, and arranges matrimony for Naina and his best friend

If you thinking of watching the movie first be ready for something as an American audience: not try to find logic in every scene...be ready for long dramatic scenes and lots of songs(good ones)...and for a long duration... then you really going to like the movie.. its a really good and heart-touching movie...I really liked it..
Srk is definitely not second fiddle in this movie. He makes a huge impact. Did you also notice Rani and Kajol's guest appearances in this song?
