My father sang in the famed Tuskegee (then Institute) choir in the 1950s and was recorded on vinyl singing this classic. He recently witnessed this video and could not have been more PROUD of this performance!

Mrs Birdy Nichols director of the Westinghouse High choir during the 60’s throughout 80’s provided us with the versatility to sing this beautiful hymn. It still gives me chills to hear it.
I'm introducing German teens to the Prophet Ezekiel and starting off with this song, "Dem Bones," and "By the Rivers of Babylon." The response has been encouraging.
This was my favorite song to sing in concert choir. I too went to an HBCU. My good friend called this the wheels on the bus song!
I started reading Ezekiel the other day and had this great old spiritual rattling around in my head. So I asked Alexa to play it for me and she answered with the rendition done by Veggie Tales. Now, I can't judge Veggie Tales because I have never watched them, nor had any children who would have watched them, and while the song was certainly entertaining, it lacked both the spirit and the musicality (and authenticity too!) shown in this video. Fantastic work, Dr. Haywood!

What is the name of the Choir?
Well-voiced..choir is great, the tenor soloist is excellent... but the accelerando during the repeated middle part where the voices build on top of each other is superfluous. Dawson wrote a song that builds and carries itself. The director should have allowed the song to soar on its own.
I disagree... The accelerando was a refreshing interpretation of Ezekiel's wheel... I have heard, performed, and directed this song for the better part of 30 years... And have Never heard, performed or directed it this well... BRAVO! BRAVA! BRAVISSIMO!
