I had art block for 3 years. The thing that got me out of it finally was me thinking to myself 'well I'm not an artist anymore' and just stopping myself from thinking about doing art. Within about a month I started doing art again sporadically. That pressure being taken off was a huge factor in being able to start picking up my sketchbook again, and I've been drawing every day for weeks now and even finished a sketchbook.
one of my favorite ways to get out of art block is drawing my old art, its alot of fun and really helps me see my improvement. ALSO your cat is the cutest thing ive ever seen :>

I was watching this video trying to draw after a week of doing nothing. I've been trying to draw hijabs but I struggle so much lol (had an assignment, it was a self portrait, and I couldn't draw my hijab). I started drawabox recently and I was not ready that it might have forever cured art block for me. Drawabox has so many "rules" like you need to draw 50% the homework material and 50% for fun, and because you work in fineliner you really get practice in being way more okay with ugly results and be more courageous, daring and playful. Doing a lot of boring stuff really makes the brain hungry for the fun stuff so 100% the rest of my life now if I feel art block I will either draw boxes or stack cups from my cupboard and draw still life until I sm so bored that I know exactly what I want to draw. Or, do things like the 100 heads challenge or 500 hands challenge or some other repetitive task that helps growth where I can come out of it starving for drawing something cute or something. It super works for my brain!
it’s funny that you like drawing yourself, but feel cringe drawing ocs. i feel the opposite. i cant really draw myself/dont enjoy it, but i love making ocs to draw
Aw, your cats are so adorable!! Also when I feel like I wanna draw but don’t know what to, I like to find images of statues (preferably of Greek gods) and draw them! A lot of the statues have different expressions and I feel it really gives me the motivation to draw more dynamic poses and facial expressions. This is completely unrelated to the video lol but I’m putting it out there for anyone who has no idea what to draw <3

This videos very motivating, I've been trying to figure out what I even want to use my sketchbooks for I find myself struggling with blank pages or doom scrolling for ideas , but I've recently found it so much more fun to draw memories or things I find that spark my imagination so I can zone out and really just enjoy the process without worry of the final product , that and I also now have a scraps journal where I purposefully do warm up drawings that are messy before using my main sketchbook with color , pen etc, I also love to draw along to your videos having them on as I draw keeps me from doom scrolling as I always enjoy your videos 😊

Enfim, amo seu trabalho e assisto seus vídeos com a mesma felicidade que eu me embrulho em uma coberta quentinha no inverno. Quanto ao bloqueio criativo... eu simplismente paro de desenhar, pra ñ me estressar com o que eu gosto, sabe. Depois eu desenho coisas na minha zona de conforto e encho tudo de circulos e espirais, volto a "normal" no dia seguinte (ou uma semana depoiskkkkk).
