@@jockwross I suspect what you are missing is that no right is absolute. I have the right to say what I said and I have the right to offend people but my rights (or anybody's) are not absolute. There are limits to what we can say why we have the law of slander. It seems to me if you profess a belief in a man who spoke about forgiveness you should forgive people for their actions. At no point did Jesus say he was against same sex marriage and if it was important to him - surely he would have said something?

Burke continued to sin - which is why he continues to sit in Mount Joy prision. To apply your logic to the situation Burke is the sinner and the striker and the judge is sitting in Judgement.

All their morals seem to be taken from the Old Testament. Now I'm not religious but I'm pretty sure that was written long before Jesus was born. I can't recall any quotes from Jesus about gay people at all. I don't think he ever mentioned them. It's almost like he didn't have a problem with them.
If you ever read the New Testament, Jesus fully endorsed the Old Testament. Also, in the New Testament Paul denounces homosexuality in his first letter to the Corinthians.

Well done for standing up for what you believe in. It is not an easy path to take but you both have shown great courage and tenacity. It is not just a matter of 'freedom of Religion' as you state but also a matter of freedom speech. Our society has deteriorated since I was a young man in the 1960's when people were at liberty to say whatever they believed without being silenced by the authorities. Today, try to express any thought that does not concur with the officially accepted narrative about covid, the war in the Ukraine, or gender politics and you will find yourself being smeared and censored and in some situations like in yours, encountering both violence and exclusion. I take my hat off to you both, your bravery will be commended by future generations.

Why don't you tell your brother, that it is reasonable and lawful for a business or school not to allow people on the premises who they don't want or have no legitimate reason to be there. While you're at it could you remind your mother that people who are not part of a procedure or legal case have no right to shout an disrupt a court, regardless of it being civil, criminal or employment

I feel sorry for this family. Even the adult children seem micro managed by their parents. Growing up socially isolated without any opportunities to mix with other kids. A university that should have distanced itself from civic issues as was expressed in the referendum of 1979 which was a landslide in favour of banning universities from interfering in Irish civic life ..
As they have historically prolonged civic disputes from the safety of the student bar...a referendum they have refused to recognise to.tjis day contrary to the development of people's convention set in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights......Selective on their referendums and election results too it seems ..since 1997 the government have assisted universities to become private constituencies also in contravention of the 1979 referendum... unfortunately I must question why you would attend a university given these details ..however it's not surprising to.hear you received such treatment..these universities never alert students to the 1979 referendum as they continue to.elect senators contrary to law ..it's a case of saphophiliacs attacking Christian' more than the Irish public ...and maybe it's time that we asserted that referendum of '79 and abolish university Ireland and it's private constituencies now moot , for good ??!?..!..it's time the military take over university campuses...and we need a Taoiseach with the resolve to enforce it.! He was jailed for breaching a court order preventing him from going onto school property and he blatantly told the judge that would continue to breach it. Thats why he's in jail. He wasn't actually teaching the student in question. Im completely against the trans ideology and I'm an evangelical Christian but quite frankly this family have a history of these kind of stunts and I get the impression they like the attention.
