      Best defensive 15 we have had but attacking game was not his strong point. A great servant.

      He was too slow for international FB but we have not had anything close to the stability he gave at the back.

      @@mlguy8376 Agreed, however 15 has been a point of counter attack for some time. You have to have pace for an arcing run now due to stretching defences. Foden and Armatige were very good but brown had defence nailed down.

    Ben has that reputation in Brisbane. A few years ago, he felt up a girl in a club, she walked away and started crying to her friends, who then confronted him.. and he acted innocent, then got angry and shoved that girl..
    He ended up Down at the pokies a bit later, when he was confronted by a crew of island boys who found out what had happened later in the night lol... I remember clearing tables and watching him get slapped around before his friends came down and got slapped around also hahaha never saw him at the club again ... drunken bully

      He sounds like a mug. You would think he would show a bit of respect in camp especially when he is qualified on residency and been given the chance to represent the shirt. Seems like he just went to the highest bidder, saw a pic of him in an Irish jersey when he was playing for Leinster. Delighted he left. Clown.

      @@benrichens6815 Brown was easily the best full back in England. The probleM for him was that he played at the same time as Hogg, Halfpenny, Kearney and Williams who are/where all superior players. He was superb for England and hardly ever fucked up im Scottish and I loved him as a player.

    Disliked Brown when he played against Wales. But being honest it's because he was aggressive, passionate, and a really decent effective player.
    Seems a good bloke.

    Lot of rugby lads still act like 16 year olds and play up after a few beers, years past all that bullshit behaviour should have ended. Nothing wrong with getting on the beers but doing all that rubbish is pathetic your a grown man, all that alpha slapping people and pushing buttons crap to get laughs on nights out can’t imagine anything worse than having to drink with lads like that

    As an irish fan i always thought with Mike Brown in the england team we didnt have a chance against them. He was lethal. I didnt even know about that story. I couldnt understand why he was suddenly out of the team. Makes no sense. Not surprised by Eddie Jones being aggressive even with his own players though. EJ has always been a prick.

    Loved Mike brown in the England team . Wish he was 6 years younger and our present full back . Either way I wouldn’t acknowledge Ben teo as a england player but like to say a big thanks to brown for his great performances for our country . 👍

    This explains a lot tbf...with leadership like that no wonder the players don't feel confident enough to bring their club form to the England set up. If my manager f'd and blinded at me for something that I didn't start he wouldn't be happy to how I react back.

    Certainty puts an interesting perspective on EJ’s often baffling selection choices and subsequent underperforming since RWC 2019. Also felt MB was a bit to much heads up for EJ.

    If that was given as any kind of reason for him being dropped out of the squad that is shit. He was a borderline pick at the time and likely on the way out anyway but he's been a great servant to the national team over the years, very reliable, always put in a shift and had a spiky edge to him that often the rest of the team lacked in the early days. By the end it was time to move on for sure, but he was exactly the player and character we needed when we had him.

    Avoiding getting drunk can put you on the outer with team mates or lads you work with…they say don’t trust a guy who doesn’t drink and all that….when it comes to trimming work crews often the non drinkers are the first to be trimmed…alcohol and it’s associated problems can have far reaching effects

      This is true, it's also a very weird standpoint. Almost as if they're threatened by individuals who don't feel the need to hide amongst the crowd and embarrass themselves under the influence of alcohol all with the hopes of 'fitting in'.
      God forbid one doesn't wish to consume something that would be considered a Class A drug had it not been a deep component of society and part of many social norms for millenia.

      Only other account I know of is Te'os, and all he said was;
      To be honest, I don’t think it was that big of a deal. When I woke up in the ­morning I didn’t think it was that big of a deal'
      'I can’t really change who I am, and the way I am sometimes. You take the good with the bad'.
      Even without hearing anyone else's version, Teo sounds guilty as sin. He's nasty, aggressive and evidently has a big ego issue.
      Mike Brown was done dirty, could've easily blown the whole thing up and made a mockery of the whole England camp, some would've even pressed charges for assault. Despite all unjust shit he got from Eddie Jones, he prioritised Eddie Jones's own image as coach and said nothing.

    Mike Brown, what a player, what bloke. Give me a team full of Mike Browns any day. Tigers gave him a chance and he continues to pay them back in spades, proved himself as a player and a bloke. Eddie went on to prove himself, wouldn't trust him to coach the under 8's at my local club.
    No backward step in Mike Brown, I just love watching him play, if anything he gets better.

      yh, i agree. One of his best string of games was the 3-0 series in Aus and he was one of those players that made the difference (along with Farrell, Ford, George & Nowell in peak form).

      Nothing wrong with a bit of immaturity, joking around & general horse play. But punching someone in the face, totally unprovoked is straight up neanderthal behaviour and should be A - taken very seriously and B - punished appropriately.
      Marler and Youngs shouldn't be tarnished with the same brush as Ben Te'o.

    I was mates with Ben as a kid in NZ. We used to box with crappy old gloves and the garden hose as a ring. Il never forget the hiding he gave me after giving him a blood nose, haha good times.

    Brown was / is a very good fullback. We have not successfully replaced our 15. Comments saying Brown is not an attacking fullback are simply laughable.

    The more that comes out from the England camp the more I can’t stand Jones. He’s not as good as he thinks he is. He says he wants leaders but if you question anything your gone. No wonder the team panic if plan a doesn’t work as they are not allowed to play heads up rugby and think for themselves- how long has he got left on his contract ???

    Brown was always a bit holier than though. Thought the world was out to get him on the pitch and felt robbed by not getting selected for the Lions. Even went to the media about it when he was never even linked. Think there is a bit more too it than this.
    Mind you, hearing about Te'o during his time at Leinster. The squad were more than happy for him to move on

      @@MentasmUK They've been plagued with injuries since that WC, and have actually beaten SA since. They also had a brilliant 6 nations when you consider 7 of their 1st choice players was out for injury, including the Captain.
      England have really been up against it recently and shouldn't be written off. 2023 is going to be very exciting!

    As an Irish lad, I used to hate Mike. He just seemed like the epitome of English arrogance. However, I realise it's completely unfair to judge a man without hearing him out, and he seems a very solid guy.
    Also, when an English player is disliked, it usually just means they're extremely good.

    Holy smack rugby and a few beers 🍻 still the same at any level of rugby scuffles and a little niggle with players will always happen at socials or even rugby training its all part of the game
