This was man was a prophet!! Still remember when he came into our home and sung to both me and my sister our favorate songs he wrote! Love always family!
He definitely was !!! Love all of his music - he had an amazing voice and his music was conscious. Such a tragic loss ( can’t believe how he died ) to the world I often wonder what beautiful music he’d be making if he was still here today ….
+Richard Smith Really? I will tell you. He sounds the same singing live (recorded), as he does singing on a record, which is re-recorded over and mixed and engineered basically. So live, usually a singer doesn't actually sound as good as he does with all the help that a studio gives.
I saw Garnet Silk in his first career debut in Bronx New York City. The Marley Children were part of that line-up. And, when it was Garnet's time to come out there was not much uproar but after 20 minutes in his act the whole place up-roared to the fact that calmness was requested so that this talent first time appearing Rasta brethren could present his message. I will never forget that night---Garnet was...I cant find words to describe his presence at that stage. I went the next day and bought all his albums. In respect, I believe that I was not the only one who went out the day after and purchased all his albums. The Marley Children was awesome that day on stage. But, they never received the same forward as Garnet did, and he was the backup appearance. Garnet has surely made a mark on all Jamaicans.
This is such a beautiful story...give thanks for sharing - Garnet Silk’s music still leaves that same lasting impression on generations to come after him.
@@StevenHeapRecipes no mahn is perfect we rember him for the good he has done. In that time the government was trying to kill off the Rasta musicians wen it didn't work they tried another way cocaine. I don't judge unless I want to b judged. No man is perfect except God Almighty

@David Henry Great story, brother! Garnet is also my favourite artist of all time. I lived in Castle Heights (Ford Pen Lane) at the time and never lucky enough to see him in Barbican. I knew he was living by Tavistock, Jacks Hillside, but couldn't catch him in Barbican at all, every time my friends would tell me Garnet was just in Barbican square. I would love to hear the cassette of the songs he gave you, wondering if anything on it that is new to my ear or hardly ever played, like a song where he sings "calling, calling, calling long-distance" .
Was too young when he died but soon as I got old enough to understand his music it's all I listen to..such a special voice and humble soul...oh me oh my... Can't stop replaying that song!
Garnett Silk is a real Lion King amongst the masses with such a pure and clean heart and amazing talent. He is Perfection! R.I.P King Garnett SIlk...your eternal spirit and your music lives on! Selah.

Garnett, your spirit lives on. I recall the day; the exact time I heard about your transition from the earth and it rocked my for weeks. It still remains unreal years after. Your words and work continue to influence many and for that we give thanks. You did your job. WELL DONE MY BROTHER MAN!

However, thank Jehovah that his music lives on forever! I am buying all of his albums. I am confident that he is a messenger sent by Jahovah just like: Jesus, Marley, Luther-King.
