- Plumbing Problems!! Just another day in the life of a plumber! First Day back and we had a nightmare and i wasn't just the plumbing problems that was a problem on this day! We are going to re pipe a radiator as its never heated up correctly leaving the customer cold and frustrated. All the basic radiator and plumbing checks have been done prior to attending this job and it was agreed with the customer to re pipe this 1800 x 600 double radiator feeds from 10mm to 15mm pipework.
The Job was going quite well then we had our first problem which didn't involve plumbing which started when the customer asked us to move the van. After overcoming that fault we started to refill the system and test, that is when the biggest problem occurred which didn't was plumbing related.
THIS ONE caught us out a bit but i would love to know your opinions, would you have done the same or got to the fault quicker?

Anyone had a worse day back? Not the best start....Let me know in the comments as always thank you for your support, 5K giveaway details in THIS video...good luck
I remember years ok on B G I replaced a boiler the old boiler had a pump over run I I made a note of the wires from the old boiler I was all finished when the electrician arrived so I left him to it next minute I heard bang he blow the board up then he locked his keys in the van I felt sorry for him had a right bad day
Had a similar issue before on a cylinder return in 15mm barrier pipe. Top tip if you run a magnet on the outside of the pipe you should find the blockage as the magnet will stick to to pipe
Well done for sorting that out 👍
You must have the patience of a saint, many would have just walked away from that….well done
Years back we had that non-barrier pipe feeding radiators in an extension done by previous owners. Turned the rads into sludge buckets by letting oxygen into the system.
Yes mate that stuff will, horrible…2 estates by me riddled with problems and all have that pipe in it
Love watching these as it shows me the difference between onsite plumbing which I do and house hold plumbing
Persistence got you through
Great content. I have definitely learnt something new here. Keep up the good work.
Rads do some strange things, they never stop surprising me
Another great vidoe, thanks. Always good to watch.
Perfect demonstration of a topical job that can run you round a bit but yo fixed the problem and had ya van fixed while earning you could have been sat waiting and waiting. Love your videos you show it all top man and the fire extinguisher is a must you’ve made me get one and have it at hand 👍
Well done Luke, yet another great video.
Top drawer.
Great to see I’m not the only plumber who faces challenges like this.
Great content
Excellent outcome.Well done mate
Quality job pal. Hoping to see loads more from you in 2024. All the best.
Great content , good to watch someone with as much knowledge as you
Thanks mate 👍👍
Have been in these situations so many times. This actually done me a favour as i have two separate properties both with one rad that doesn’t work. Both were builder installs not done by a plumber! Have a feeling its blocked ball o fix valves fitted somewhere on the pipes! Well done for sorting it!👊🏼👍🏼
Love your videos, the tips and tricks are really helpful and they do come with experience. Keep up the good work your videos are an inspiration to other plumbers to keep going and getting the job done. I did notice you’ve started keeping a fire extinguisher handy since your last disaster, I guess every plumber should have them handy while working. All the best to you mate keep posting great stuff!
Thanks mate love the support 🙌👍

Nice one mate! That was really useful! Thank you
Another top video, watching you diagnose problems like this makes your content interesting. Filming and trying to get the job done takes some doing, well done.
Stay safe 😊
There is only one thing worse than 10 mil pipe and that's 8 mil 😂
Oh 100% 8mm is just horrendous who thought that was a good idea to sling rads on 8mm 😅
I've even come across 6mm pipe! It needs a very hig pressure pump to make it work thats for sure.
Another great video. Well done on finding that.
Great content from boilers maintenance to ever day plumbing issues.
Thanks mate 👍
Your efforts paid off , well done.
Am sure the customer was buzzing
Thanks mate, yeah they was well happy with a warm living room 👍

Great to see issues on the job and how you manage to overcome these. Keep the videos coming 👍
Thanks mate 👍
Hi this is one of the best videos I’ve seen on here. Absolutely brilliant to finally get to the bottom of it. You know the feeling you get when you’ve finally solved it nothing like it and you now have a customer for life. Had anyone else looked at it before you did? That pipe was well blocked make no mistake about it well done mate.
Thanks mate really appreciate the support, they hadn’t mate I was first to look at it and yeah that pipe was really bad, I took it home and it was like that most of the way
What a day! Well done for succeeding after a few setbacks!
Thanks mate 👍👍
Hope the vans all ok, and keep up the good work
Thanks mate; Van been sound 👍
Man you absolutely smashed that, had something very similar only it took me two days to find the bloody culprit. Excellent job brother
Thanks mate 🙌👍
Hi, another great video. Thanks . I would replace the compression fittings as well because I don't want to be called back for a leak.
Great job mate that's what I love about you. You get it sorted out. And no covering up. The van you need it for work I would have done the same. Cheers mate
Thanks mate, it think showing it as it is is more helpful than showing how good it is 🙌👍
A tricky one to solve. I've been watching you since your early videos and the channel has got better and better. Keep on with what you are doing.
Thanks mate really appreciate the support 🙌👍
Your a genius, well done,it didn’t catch you out ,you started with the obvious and worked back, that rad needed repiping as the quality of previous work was shocking
Thanks mate, got there in the end on this one 👍
Nice tidy work Luke and well done for sorting the problem...Happy New year
Thanks mate 👍
Great fault finding to narrow it down Luke! My heart sinks everytime I walk into a job and I see 8mm or 10mm copper on the heating system! Top vid as always!
Good luck to everyone for the giveaway!
Thanks mate 👍👍
Great video so thank you. Really interesting mystery!
Thanks mate 👍
Your video have helped me out a lot as a newish gas engineer in the industry after leaving the army. 👍
Great mate really glad there helping 👍
It’s the thought process of dealing with the tasks. Keep them coming.
Great video again, real life plumbing
Was hoping you find that the flow and return had been connected together further down the line and that causing rad not to work.. blockages a nightmare ..
well done for sorting it
Thanks mate, as I got boards up further back I was expecting something saft like that but just goes to show never know what lies beneath 👍
Don’t matter what job you do there’s always a nightmare usually the job that should only take short time to fix . Well done in the end
Really enjoying your vids, very helpful as a trainee plumber!
Glad it’s helping mate 👍
I'm a sparks but I also had a flat battery on first day back in middle of nowhere in mid-Wales. Luckily some neighbours (2 miles away!) had jump leads.
Well done for persevering on that job, many people would have walked away long before you found the problem.
Serves us right for having time off don’t it 😂😂 thanks mate 🙌👍
It's not just the pipework, which is the fun bit, it's all the access and making good again afterwards. And what a mess under the floors 😱.
Great job getting to the bottom of it!
Very true, pipework is the easy bit most of the time 😅
Well done for your perseverance which paid off in good time. I hope your customer appreciated the 'lengths' you went to..
I had a similar problem with my car, stood for two weeks during that cold snap in November, down to 8.5v. Now using my bike's 'oximiser' to keep topped up. Maybe worth considering for next winter. Apparently it's recommended for AGM batteries during cold and laid up periods.
Keep the vids coming, they're best in class.
Thanks mate really appreciated…customer was over the moon, nice warm living room now…next year Il take van for a run a few times I think just got used to using wife’s car all Christmas…lesson learned 😅👍
Another good video. Glad you sorted it out.
Thanks mate 👍
Great bit of work there mate! That looked like hard work!!! But great job getting it sorted!
Thanks mate 🙌👍
Great video Luke 👍great tip on about putting another bit of pipe in clip to keep other pipe out enough to solder 👏can’t believe the way the pipe was just run inside the window cil and up inside of the wall to top radiator surely it would of made more sense to do it the way you ran it up the wall to upstairs radiator.bad luck with the van battery ain’t cheap when they go are they.looking forward to the next video 👍
I couldn’t understand the pipe either, they really didn’t want anything on show and went to a bit of difficulty running that 10mm the way they did!
Great videos, well done sorting that out
🙌👍
Nice, neat job and excellent investigation. Great to see your little fire extinguisher!
Thanks mate…he’s my best friend now goes everywhere with me 😅
I'm just a diy'er and i do small plumbing jobs i enjoyed this video and how you solved the problem. keep them coming.
Thanks mate…will do! 👊
It’s never simple is it! I enjoy your videos keep it up!
Never simple 😂👍
Job well done 👍 thanks for sharing. Really enjoying your videos. Have a great year✌️
Thanks mate 👍👍
Well done Luke for persevering! As you say we are problem solvers and you know you've inherited something that can go sideways fast when the customer says 'its never worked properly!' 😂 Microbore is horrendous for flow restrictions and ive had it on manifolds with 10, 8 and even 6mm to a hallway radiator that was blocked solid!
Thanks mate …I hate microbore pipework, only ever used it when no other options, 2 estates by me have loads of blockages and problems over the years
As a very old retired gas fitter micro bore bits of plastic usually indicated a expansion tank pumping or sucking in air till it ground to a stop, then boiler replaced/system pressured no chemical clean
Good video, Luke. Very informative.
Thanks mate 👍
Great video as also showing where you have problems is always a great help
Thanks for the support mate glad you enjoyed the video 🙌

Thanks mate, 10mm no good, I’ve used it only where I’ve had to and no other choice 👍

I know, caught me out 😅
I've had a seized Brake Caliper & a dodgy coolant temperature sensor this week ! Unneeded frustration . Heres to better luck for the rest of year.
