  • Bass fishing this heavily weeded irrigation pond from the Pelican Catch Mode 110 kayak. Fishing in middle of summer so trying to find them deep with soft plastics and on topwater lures as well.

Hey best bud another instant classic! I was looking online at the pelican catch mode and trying to compare it to the pelican challenger 100xp. I’m trying to make a decision on which on to get. So I have a small pond on my property which is the primary place of use, but I’d like to take it on the monongahela river since it’s so close to town. Which do you think would be better suited for the river slow to fast current?

Glad you enjoyed brother. ONLY MY OPINION: Either one is fine for the pond but stability has to go to the Catch Mode not even factoring that you may take to a flowing river...The XP100 feels tippy to me (5' 11" 200 lbs) and think you would enjoy the extra floor room the Catch has. I will say the Catch isn't the easiest or fastest to paddle.
