Clearly wasn't a good impression because they showed a metal tray with pink material not the blue tray with white material.
Thanks doc
You're welcome!
What should I do if I have a terrible gag reflex and a really small mouth? I’m scared.
Try to find a dental office that can do a digital impression instead. That should help.
You can wiggle your toes, breath through the nose and I have water from the faucet as white noise.
@@EdiliaMarshallDMDMAGDAAACD that's great to ask for a digital but most don't so you didn't answer their question.
Dear dr. How do we know when to take this out? Is there any trick to “feel” the alginate based on the time indicated on the box? I notice that the consistency changes in cool and hot ambient temperature, i am not sure if this is true.
It is true that in cooler temperatures (both air temp and the temperature of the water you use) the alginate takes a bit longer to set and in warmer, it sets more quickly.
First of all, use the recommended amount of time, then check the alginate that is still in the bowl. Once it peels out cleanly (no longer sticky or runny) it should be set. You can also double check the alginate in the tray - press on the alginate that is extruding from the front of the tray with the soft part of a finger (don't use a fingernail) and the alginate should bounce back (not indent) when it is fully set. I you're in doubt, leave it in a little longer.
I hope this helps.
@@EdiliaMarshallDMDMAGDAAACD very good tip, thank you Dr. Marshall.
You're very welcome!
Don't you have to clean it after trying the tray in her mouth at first?
Not necessary if you are going to use it on that patient, unless it became soiled somehow.
@@EdiliaMarshallDMDMAGDAAACD oh okay, thank you so much for replying.
What is the name of the adhesive used ?
Any alginate adhesive will do the job.
