Democratic system is good for a culturally diverse country like India as it allows many different people to have a voice in the political system. The main issue is not democracy, the issue is that in our homes, and education system, we are not teaching our citizens about values such as cooperation, scientific reasoning, compassion, tolerance, civic duties and responsibilities etc. So, we have most of our people who live life without any of these values and blindly follow money and power which results in corruption and many issues in our society. Another issue is local governance and administration system in a municipal corporation has to be held more accountable to the public and their performance must be evaluated based on local economic development and human development index improvements. Our politicians and public servants will respond to what our people demand but unfortunately majority of our people are 50 years behind the modern world thinking so they are not able to make advanced reform demands mentioned above and instead blindly follow petty party politics.
