Cadets do not get salary. They receive a stipend only. They are not part of the ships operational crew and essentially are an investment of the company for future Human Resource. The stipend received is therefore purely for their upkeep as an officer since they are trainees and expected to board with officers and learn among other things OLQs.
Yet cadets do most of the work keep lookouts in high traffic conditions do jobs no one of the ships crew wants to do

Cadets should not get into how much they are earning, it's a learning phase, but it's good to be rewarded, after all it's our first salary, which is always special, I as a cadet engineer received 2300 USD/Month.
