Every single interview segment is a complete gem. Credit to the great Russell Harty he really was a brilliant presenter and interviewer.
Russell Harty was a little before my time. However, watching him at his best, after the fact, is sublime. He really was and is an English legend. Thank you for the upload. It was very entertaining.

One of the most underrated of all interviewers: Looking at these clips with so many years of hindsight, his subtle skills seem more apparent to me than ever. He was able to coax all sorts of revelations out of his guests, simply because he put them at their ease. Despite being Oxford-educated, he had the common touch, he was down-to-earth, and it's clear from these excerpts that most of the very famous people he interviewed responded positively to that.
Russell Harty was a rude, passive aggressive, patronising, duplicitous nasty little man. Wake up!

Think out all those interesting people, would loved to have meet Lauren Bacall, was fascinating to watch Gracie Fields for the first time, most boring was Brian Bennett.
Dirk Bogarde died sadly hiding being gay. He burned all his photos of him and his partner but some photos were saved. sad

there is nothing wrong with the way Russel Harty interviewed and there is nothing wrong with the Jonathan Ross or someone like Parkinson or Aspen interviewed being nice to celebs is not sucking up it's being nice celebs are people too most celebs are anyway there aren't all stuck up I can think of a few that are down to earth great people George Michael was one we lost gem when we lost him in this world I hate using past tense with that one, in this case, I have no choice all you people hating on Mr Harty and also on the other interviewers not like him or hating on anyone else are gonna be shocked one day when you face judgement for your hatred of others

Russell Harty got away with it on ITV, but with the BBC he got beaten up by Grace Jones. Harty was a strange guy.
