In America there are commercials on TV for a service that will look at legal settlements payed out to a person over time (usually in small payments) and refactor it into one lump sum while skimming some off the top for the service. I know this is a very long winded explanation but that line had the EXACT same energy as these commercials and I found it very funny :P
I have rewatched the episodes with Thoralf so much and I love him, the way he ends game 2 by just making puppy dog eyes and saying: "no?"

The opening comment about Good luck is part of why I want to try and get the community to change to Play Well Have Fun instead of GLHF. the other part is that good play should be acknowledged regardless of the degree of luck that affects each player
Loved watching the funny dynamic between these two! I don't think I'll be adding Founding the Third Path to my phoenix deck, it reminds me a bit of Mission Briefing which was just ok in the deck, and pieces of the puzzle is still needed in some significant number (at least more than 1!). Non instant/sorcery proc can be detrimental in some situations. IMO the best graveyard spell recurrence for phoenix remains Finale of Promise, but even that doesn't see play in paper/mtgo.
"Creature's [sic!] in graveyard" at 16:55 hurts a bit - a minor point though, as this is great content, maybe the greatest MTG content on CZcams! Thoralf GOAT!

Living the pioneer gameplay videos!
In the first game at 19.50 phoenix player brings back birds after casting saga, Iteration, axe. Phoenix only counts instants and sorceries being cast. Saga is an enchantment and the copy of axe is not cast and therefore doesn't count. That's kinda crucial as the whole deck revolves around that.
Although it doesn't matter in the end.
I - You may cast an instant or sorcery spell with mana value 1 or 2 from your hand without paying its mana cost.
III - Exile target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard. Copy it. You may cast the copy.
Both times the spells are cast.

@@tonysmith9905 I never said the saga does not cast the spells. I said the saga does not count towards 3 instants/sorceries cast, nor does the copy from iteration. Axe was not even in hand and was cast by chapter 3 read ahead.

I noticed that Thoralf shouldn't have gotten his Phoenix back either and this was actually a pretty big game rule violation
Love the feature matches! Can never watch enough of them. For the next modern matches I would love to see some more hammer (mono w or UW) or some UW affinity.

Rule question. You talked about hearse on delve trigger but delve is mana effect so you canât react on it am I right ?
I talked about responding to the Founding of the Third Path trigger. Before Toffel can cast the spell (but after choosing it as a target for the third chapter), I can take away the delve fodder.
You're absolutely right that this would not be possible in response to the delving itself.

I have literally *zero* interest in Constructed "4 of" formats but I still clicked on it and enjoyed it because it's nice to see the Arena Boys together. Every time they're on, their sincere excitement and kind personality make their content very enjoyable(plus they're pretty cute)
A couple typos aside, really nice work on the overlay. Clean yet packed with all the relevant info while being completely unobtrusive.
By the way, this means Jamin is now the Mythic Champion until Toffel gets the title back, right? That's how that works? đ

Soooooo. Around 8:40âŠ.whyâd he say he didnât draw any lands? Isnât that hazard a land on other side? I havenât played much with those double sided spell/land cards
the object of the deck is to delay the opponent by imprinting the spells by isochron and return the land on top of the library counter the spell first then put land on top so the opponet will draw lands only you win by urza's rage of creature damage
Recently joined card market, sold some wow tcg, was great and their service is awesome.

You can absolutely buy cardlists! đ add a list to your "My Wants", then use the shopping wizard to either find the most efficient, or cheapest way to get your cards.
I've been investing on my Izzet Prowess deck for Pioneer, but seeing this makes me think I should have built Rakdos instead. I guess will have to try the new cards from DMU and decide what to do.

Are there any okayish werewolf lists for pioneer or modern? Love them in standard and would be cool to see in other formats!
Although werewolves are awesome in casual formats, they are a little too inconsistent for more competitive modern or pioneer. But maybe you can change that by creating the perfect list đ
Founding the third path looks like straight gas for mill. Turn 2 drop this for glimpse the unthinkable, if you're lucky you got tasha's laughter turn 3, then again turn 4. Worst case you get to cast glimpse again, that alone is 24 cards with a free turn 3 and mana still up on four..
I'd love to see you guys play a 4 color human deck with some of the new dominaria united cards in it. Humans are by far one of my favorite decks in magic

I am slightly confused as to why Temporal Trespass was noted as an "important graveyard card." It doesn't seem to have any abilities while in the graveyard such as flashback.
Because it is one of the most important targets for the last chapter of Founding of the Third Path

Thoralf needed a Niv Mizzet and Crackling Drake.
I felt bad for Thoralf, it seems like there was nothing that he could do. The fact that at one point he drew 6 cards for 3 mana and still lost game 1 (even though it was a very close game) is shocking. Game 2 looked impossible after the hearse hit the board.
Is this really that bad of a match up? Is due to the difference in card quality? They have the delve spells but, maybe that's not enough?
We played another game before (off camera) and Toffel smashed me, so I think this just showed very fortunate games for me. Just count the number of Graveyard Trespassers I drew.

Interesting decks, i wish you'd gone into greasefang with liliana instead of rakdos as i think we'd see more impact. Not sure rakdos draws enough to take advantage of lili either, suppose it feeds kroxa but post sideboard kroxa can be rough.
Deciding on a decklist, I was thinking about Abzan greasfang but I didnt know how to fit it without making the deck extremely clunky. Discarding on turn 3 simply doesn't fit the curve (which is not to say the deck won't run Lili)

@@CardmarketMagic fair answer Jamin, i'm not so sure Lili added much to midrange either to be fair, i believe the 4 drop card advanrage planeswalkers like Chandra and Sorin do more than symetrical discard.
