Good morning Carrie. I made this shawl a while back for my mother-in-law who is in her 90's. She absolutely loves it especially because of how it hangs down and she doesn't have to worry about holding it. I am working on another one as a gift. This would make great shawls for nursing home residents because of the way they nicely hang down. It is so easy to crochet while I watch videos😊 It is one of my favorite patterns. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a try. Thanks again Carrie.
I am so glad that you like it!!! It really means a lot to me to hear that!!!
This is the best tutorial I have come across for these half circle shawls. I am on my second one already. These make such wonderful gifts to give. Ty for sharing this with us. ❤😊
Wonderful! I am so glad you are enjoying it!!!
Finally! I've been searching for this half circle or crescent shawl pattern but didn't like any of the patterns until now. You've done a wonderful job in presenting and instructing so that I finally get it! Thanks so much!
I am so glad that you like it!!! I can't wait to see what you make!!!
Sometimes basic is better. Awesome pattern with so many possibilities. Thanks for sharing. Blessings. 🧶🤓
I am so glad that you like it!!!
This is a very easy pattern and makes a beautiful shawl thank you
Thank you!!!
You will never ever have an idea of how many questions I had, and problems of course, you have answered with this simple tutorial...!!! Never...!!! I have tons of yarn specifically bought for this and that shawl I was always planning to give to my daughters and I could NEVER EVER get any beginning (and continue and finish...) right... Got so crushed every time, frustrated, intimidated, humiliated and depressed, giving up... I thank you from the bottom of my heart...!!! Thank you, thank you and thank you, over and over... again!!!
Oh my goodness!!! I am so sorry you have struggled with shawls in the past!!! For the most part, understanding the shape you are trying to make does help. I am glad this tutorial helped you out!!!!
I LOVE MAKING HALF CIRCLE SHAWLS AND THEY ARE HARD TO FIND TUTORIALS. SO GLAD I FOUND ANOTHER ONE, LOVE YOUR TUTORIALS
They are so simple. But you are right, aside from the giant doily ones... It is hard to find half round shawls.
I just found your channel and love this shawl. I will be making this too. 💕NonnaGrace
I can't wait to see your shawl!!!
Double crochet is my favorite stitch. I love the easy way you described how to do the crochet stitches in each row and where to do the increasing in the beginning and the end. I look forward to the next tutorial. Thank you.
It really is super easy!
I love eye lets and shawls that have a slight incline to stay on shoulders!...i cant wait to make this...i like your instructions clear and to the point....thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much!!! I am so glad that you like it!!!
Hi Carrie, Thank you so much for sharing everything with us!!! It's really pretty!!
Please take care and stay safe and healthy 💕💗💖🎶🦋
Thank you!!! You too!!!
Stopped by because of Cinnamon stitches recommendation and she was right. I really enjoyed your tutorial and I watched some of your other videos, your great thanks a lot! See ya soon
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you so much Carrie Penny - this tutorial has been so helpful and has started me off on my next crochet adventure.
🤭😲🤭😲 I can't wait to see what you did with it!!!
On row three for the last two DCs I did 2DC together for a neater edge.😊 Every time you say "pie wedge" I think of the cat Pyewacket from the movie "Bell, Book abd Candle"!😺🐈⬛
That is my mom's favorite movie!!! Are you doing an increase before the 2DCTOG?
Thank you for this. I made this shawl following another teacher, you made this so easy. I used a 4 ply and 4 colors. I squared off on the front, put buttons on. It was easy to wear at hospital after major surgery, my husband slipped it over my head, no problem with I've and tube, vs house coat. I just love how you explaine it and make the instructions sooooo easy and simple to follow.
I am so glad you like it! I didn't think about it as more like a poncho!!! That is awesome!
I love this shawl! I've made two. It is now my go to shawl pattern. The stitch marker in first and last space idea is genius!! Thank you for such straight forward instructions.
I am so glad you like!!! It is super easy to get down and the markers make it such an auto pilot pattern!
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for sharing! I will write it out tomorrow! Love, hugs, and prayers!
Thank you!!!
This would be ideal for next week's road trip. Great tutorial.
Definitely! It is a great car project!!!
Thank you Carrie! You made this beautiful shawl so easy.i sure appreciate you.
Thank you!!! It really is a super simple shawl to work up but you can play with the stitches and yarn to get a different look with each one you make!

I love the shape of this shawl. I like the round bottom. This is definitely one I want to make. Thank you for sharing
The way it circles the body makes it so it stays put too.
Thankyou so much for sharing your tutorial. I am a real fan of your channel. I mainly watch you on my TV but can't make comments unfortunately. I will try to remember (I have a bad memory) to use my tablet to make comments. Your channel content is great, as are you obviously, and you are just so gifted in your crafting. xxx
Thank you!!! I have been doing a lot of TV watching too. I understand! Thank you again!!!
This is great! I think it's a great project to let the yarn be the star. Thank you so much for sharing it with us 💜
I love letting the yarn do the work! It is fun to do more difficult patterns, but letting the yarn sing...
I am new to your channel, love this shawl, will be making this. Thank you for a gorgeous shawl.🦋🦋💖

Jennifer from Cinnamon Stitches mentioned your shawl and the pleasure it was to make. I happen happened to be attending a black & white dinner next month and wanted to make a quick shawl to brighten up the black dress I have. Thank you so much for your inspiration. ❤
She is so sweet!!! I use my crochet/knit shawls to liven up my black heavy wardrobe all of the time. It is hard to find colorful clothes but I can always use a yarn that fits an outfit!!
Great tutorial, you explained everything so clearly. Well done.
Thank you! It is so awkward to film my hands. Eventually, I will need a studio spot for just filming so I can have an overhead camera area.
Thank you for sharing how to make this shawl. I loved the way it looked when you showed it on your other video. Already saved it on my to do list. Have a nice day.

This looks like fun. Thank you for a clear, concise instruction. I'm already mentally reviewing which yarns in my stash would work. This one is a keeper. 👍

Lovely pattern. Thanks for sharing a pattern that's easy to customize.
Thank you!!! It really is! As with the knitted basic increase shawl tutorial I did last year. You really can use this base shawl to do what ever you want!!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I fell in love with this shawl the first time you showed it. I've started my first one. It's easier than it looks!
Wonderful! It really is super simple and once you get the pattern, you can just go on autopilot and roll with it. I think I am going to make a worsted one next. But someone in the FB group just did one in a cotton cake and that one has me thinking....
Thank you so much for this awesome tutorial! 🥰 I was watching on my TV the 1st time I watched this so I couldn't comment, but I've been looking for a pattern like this for a while. Lots of love and yarny hugs 💓

Making this pattern for the 5th time. I love how it drapes around the shoulders so now it is my "go-to" shawl pattern. I love it best in a 3 weight yarn. Am currently making one with Premier Bamboo Fair yarn.
I am so glad you like it!!!!
I am SO EXCITED to make this shawl!! I’ve been wanting to make a shawl with eyelets, and this is the first pattern I’ve found that I like!!! Thank you CARRIE!! 💞💖💞 P.S. I’m here because Jen, @CinnamonStitches, speaks very highly of you and how much you’ve taught her! ❤️
Thank you so much! Jen is such an amazing lady! She is always inspiring me!
Thank you Penny!!! I look forward to trying this!! I have a large cake of back and grey tones that I think I will use this pattern for! Really enjoyed this tutorial!! 🥰

So beautiful! I love eyelet shawls. ❤
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy making it!!!
Thank you. I really liked the tips you suggested 👍🏻👏🏻🧶🧶🥰🥰
Thank you!!! The tips are almost more important to me than the pattern. The pattern is very basic and simple, but the little things make this version special to me and the "recipe" format really highlights that you can make this 100% yours!
As I said to Jennifer @Cinnamon Stitches, this looks like an awesome shawl. Glad to come and visit and look around your channel. ❤️
Welcome to my strange corner of the internet! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for the clear tutorial. I this shape a lot and like that I can put my own. 🧶💕🧶

I found your channel purely by accident. We not only live in the same state, but in the same county! I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
AWESOME!!! It is strange being back again! My great grandmother was from Monroe and it is so strange to see how much it has changed but hasn't changed since I was a kid!
Very pretty !
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for your teaching. I'm in São Paulo, Brazil following your lessons
Welcome to my channel!!! I am so glad you like the shawl pattern!!!
Thank you so much, I plan to make this in anti pilling yarn to wear at my Grandson's wedding Oct. 30 . It will be cool in the Virginia evenings & it's an outside wedding. Be Blessed & keep up the good work you do! 👍🤗💕
I have the yarn to make it in either a purple anti-pilling or Vanna's choice next I think. It will great for those Fall nights!!!
Carrie your shawl pattern and tutorial is AMAZING!!! It is so easy and works up quickly. I am using Premier Spun Colors and it is working up so gorgeously. Thank you 😊🧡
It will be BEAUTIFUL in Spun Colors!!! I can't wait to see it!

Thank you, I look forward to making this one in the future. right now, I have to many WIP's.
Big Hug's with Lot's of Love
YAY! I understand on the whole too many WIPs thing!
Love this pattern. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!!!
This is great. Would also add texture interest to alternate the rows, DC a row, sc a row, hdc a row or however you want. Lots of cool stuff can be done. Thanks for sharing and teaching us. I have some LB Mandala Tweed Stripes begging for a pattern like this.
Thank you!!! You can 100% customize it how ever you want. It seems like the second one I did years ago had some extra eyelets and cross sitches. This would be STUNNING in the Tweed Stripes!
Thanks Carrie, this is now in my to do list !
Thank you!!! I can't wait to see yours!
Love this pattern!!! Thanks so much,,, it’s easy and comes out beautiful,,,,thanks again… ❤️🌻
Glad you like it!
Thank you Carrie for this tutorial, just what I was lookin for!! I’ve already made one with comfy cotton number three and a j hook, it was so nice and fits perfectly. Just started another with number 5 bulky yarn, it looks ok but I think I’ll like it better made with worsted yarn and a j hook. Will have to make another one 😀
YAY!!! I am so glad that you like it! I really want to use one of my cotton cakes for one eventually. I have only done DK-Bulky.
Love this! I saw where Angel Renee's Channel explains how she made this into a cardigan, so pretty. Thanks!
I will have to see how she did it. I kind of winged it based on one Penny did right after I published this.
Where you called the spot “ little bumpy” ,I just scooted over and made it part of the wedge . Thank you for such a beautiful shawl !!❤️❤️❤️
I just ignore it, it does some out in the blocking.
I have made six shawls of this pattern.i am now doing one for an American doll it is one of my favorite go to projects
I am so glad that you like it so much!!!!
Beautiful, thank you for the tutorial 🌹❣
Thank you!!!
thank you love the shawl
Thank you!!!
I love how this pattern works for any yarn weight! Thank you.
Thank you! I love making things that are kind of universal.
Greetings from Ireland. Thank you so much. Very clear instructions.
I am so glad you liked it!!! How is the Spring treating you over there?
Thank you. This is exactly what I have been looking for to make some donation shawls.
It is great for donation shawls. You don't always know the lifestyle or physical shape of the person who will receive them. This shape works well for people who are bedridden, ambulatory and using assistance tools like walkers or crutches.
Thank you, I'm half way done, i put some trebles in for lacyness, big cake color boysenberry
OOOOH! You will have to share a picture when you are done!
Im making this now using premier puzzle yarn, and an 8MM hook. im loving the way it's looking so far. Thank you for this Pattern.
I hope you love it!!!
I love this pattern! Thank you.
