Hand Stitched Leather Shoulder Strap Tutorial (crafted by hand) HD
Description - In this video tutorial learn how to hand stitch an adjustable and detachable shoulder strap for any bag. I originally designed this shoulder strap for my, "Messenger Tire Bag" but it can easily be customized to work with any project. For this strap I have added a leather inlay made of .9mm horse leather. I added the inlay for the purpose of adding strength, value, and beauty to the strap. Also since this strap was made to attach to a larger bag I have added a shoulder guard as well. If you wanted to save time and avoid any stitching you could also use a single layer of leather instead of adding an inlay. Whatever you decide to do I hope it'll come out great! ~

Doug Davis It's made by A German company called UHU ( contact cement glue stick) Works pretty good and cleans up nicely. They sell it on Amazon.
Great video! could you please tell me how do you burnish the edge of leather? Thank you.
I made a video on edge burnishing. Here's the link, czcams.com/video/k00-mhgUtRI/video.html
I hope this helps!
Your voice always reminds me of Stephen B Hawking.
I have a question: I need a 125cm long shoulder strap but I dont have a so long piece for one cut. Any idea, so I can use the leather I have. Thx
When I click on the pattern hyperlink - I get 404 error: page not found. Can you help me please? Thank you. Couldn't find pattern on your website either. Is it somewhere else? Good video...
What are the dimensions of the finished strap and pad? Thanks!
Where you get that dye pen?
Which colour u use for dyeing?
I made a mix of eco-flo medium brown and black stain together to darken slightly.
Do you have a preferred hardware vendor?
Hello. Could you tell me the brand of glue.
Дмитрий Латышев KS bond and UHU contact cement
Were those Chicago screws you used.
I'm not sure what they are called? I'll have to get back to you on that one.
Hi Roland, Yes, they are. Although I had a hard time locating these screws in the color I wanted. I ended up finding a supplier in China with some screws that matched the rest of the hardware on my bag. A little expensive, but worth the extra cost for the quality and match in color... If you live in the states you will probably have more selection in this area... (I'm assuming) Thanks!
