CUE POINT
is meant to mark certain sections in a song, for example a bread, drop, outro.
But is is also used to mark to a starting point in a song.
A DJ can easily skip to a part in a song to start it in, when he loads the song.
You can access the cue points by using the Cue Point left and right button on the CDJ 2000 nexus 2.
You can only skip to the next and previous cue point.
The track stops playing when you operate the cue-next and cue-previous button.
Another word for Cue Point is Memory Point or Memory Cue.
HOT CUE
is meant to skip to certain sections in a song while you are playing a song.
There are 8 hot cues (2 banks of 4 hot cues) on the CDJ 2000 Nexus 2.
Hot Cues are marked by A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H on the players display.
You can directly access a hot cue by pressing the hot cue button of your choice B or A or H.
When pressing a hot cue button the track starts playing.
You can set a hot cue and a cue point at the same spot in a track, no problem.

Though you can still use quantize function if you have it set to say 1/4 beat (fast enough for finger drumming and yet will still keep you in beat) :)
I really must use hot cues more often, they're great for getting you out of a bind too like if you miss point you want to mix the next track into. I defo love using loops but have realised you can either dave loops or hot cues, so tent to have hot cues on back A and loops on bank B. *I know the 3000 has all 8 in a line but A) I can't afford that lol and B) I think 4 per bank is good enough for some finger drumming sample editing fun
is it possible to autoload hot cues on a cdj 2000 nexus?

I've a question. How can you change the setting that when you press a hot cue that it automatically Starts. On my ddj 1000 i've Found it how but when i spin on a cdj it's annoying it always Starts the track even when i cued it.

A hot cue does automatiically start. There is no way to disable that.

Just press your hot cue, hit pause on the track and scroll back.
Do the comments for the Memory Cues show on the CDJ display? They do display on my XDJ-RX for about 3 seconds when I switch between each cue point.
yes they do. couple of beats before the next memory cue.
Doesn't work for hotcues btw.

Was hoping you could help me out here with a similar question: I have the XDJ-RX2 and the memory cue comments only display when I manually switch between the cue points (but not as the track is approaching the cue point while it's playing). Is there any way to make the comments visible while the track is actually playing?
Also, will the memory cue comments show up on all models of the CDJs (as the track is approaching those points), or just the newer models? I am playing my first club gig soon and want to be as prepared as possible. Thanks in advance! âĽď¸

When I set a cue Point via Rekordbox software and I write A Comment for that certain Cue Point, can i see that Comment also at the Display in CDJ/CDJ oder in Controllers with Display?
yes only for cue points 16 beats in advance.
other controllers do also hot cues 16 beats in advacnce
I set up the memory points on RB, but when i press the cue loop button, nothing happens. It won't let me skip to the next cue point... is there a setting that I need to change on RB??

Hi There,
I usually DJ with Traktor nowadays and a Roland drum percussion pad with sticks, and use the loop points in traktor to navigate through tracks while DJing at gigs.
I export all the song, cue, loop and key data from traktor to Rekordbox via rekordbuddy software.
Then I export playlists to a USB to dj at festivals or gigs that only have pioneer gear available.
My problem is with cue and loop points.
In traktor i have 8.
In rekordbox i have 8.
On CDJ2000NXS2 I can recall 8 hotcues, and 8 memory cues.
All of this is fineâŚ.
BUT some gigs I turn up to have CDJ2000 to CDJ2000NXS (not CDJ2000NXS2) which only have 3 hotcues (& 8 memory cues) on them available.
My question is: is there a shift or alt type button or sequence of pressing any button to scroll through the hot cues?
EG I have access to ABC hot cues but not D to H hotcues.
Is there a way I can access the other 5 hotcues during a songs playback�EG have access to DEFGH...?
Because often when Iâm DJing I like to jump from hot cue loop to hot cue loop and skip parts of the track and then when I get to the last hot cue loop callout I leave it looping and mix into the other Cdj looping hot cue or memory cue 1 intro. But I canât seem to have any access to the other 5 hotcues at gigs with CDJ2000/NXS :(

No there isn't a proper solution
Those machines only support 3 hotcues
What I did is to program the most important hotcues in the first 3 spots and the rest is 'bonus''
Annoying? yes but the only solution that kind-of works
How to change the color of the hot cues?
you can set that in the settings on rekordbox and on the cdjs. See CDJ settings video and rekorbox for beginners part 3 video
