If you plot a “shortest path” from the starting room to any dead end, the Treasure Room cannot spawn further along that path than the Shop. That means if you see the shop and the Treasure Room isn’t attached to the same room, it’s down another path.
As a side effect, this also means that the shop is way more likely to be along the path to the boss, at least on the earlier floors.

As a MtG Player, yes those are Magic cards and it took me like 1000 hours to get it :D
The original Cards are
Ancient Recall -> Ancestral Recall
Chaos Card -> Chaos Orb
Huge Growth -> Giant Growth
Era Walk -> Time Walk
With Time Walk and Ancestral Recall both being super expensive and straight up broken cards.
Both of these cards have a price ranging from 5k up to 35 k depending on the Set and Condition. At least in Europe i imagine those prices are higher in Merica. Chaos Orb is somewhere around 2-5 k and gitant growth is somewhere between few cents and a few hundred bucks. Due to the reprints it has received.
Further fun fact besides giant growth the other three cards are on a reserved list which means they will not be reprinted, period.

Heya Matt, I got a lil uh, mod recommendation, it’s called Isaac rebalanced, it’s on the front page of the workshop at the moment
Basically it takes boring items and tweaks them to be better, and also fine tunes or reworks some other items (like Monstro’s lung actually having range or smth, or ipecac giving you a x2 DMG multiplier and +4 damage instead of a flat 40 damage)
