I heard the match was 34 minutes long. I have never heard anyone wining a Grand Slam final that easily and that quickly, of course no one is close to the greatest Graf.

Love watching Steffi playing tennis since 1988. She is powerful, atheletic, calm, and always has excellent sportsmanship. Even in today's tennis world, I do not see a player as atheletic as her, look at her footwork, it is just too enjoyable watching her executing her shots with such good footwork.
Graf had three matches in that FO where she did only lose one game. If these two had met in the 4. round, no one had taken notice of it and Zvereva herself might have quickly forgotten about the experience. Hardly anyone was spared back then being badly hammered by Graf at least once.
Zvereva had beaten Martina Navratilova in the 4th round in 2 sets. She would beat Martina again in August 1988 with 61 64 at the Canadian Open. And two more times, always in 2 sets. Natasha was no slouch. But in this FO 1988 she froze at the sight of Steffi at her absolute peak prime peak.
Fast forward 10 years, zvereva beat graf and seles on Wimbledon. Only player to beat both and arguably one of the top 3 all time best doubles player.. So shows , it's important bto get up and go back to work after bad days and win ur own share of success. Kudos to zvereva.

Nobody probably can beat Graf on the day, even though her opponents are at their peak. When Seles came to the scene, she had this similar mental ruthless which helped her to win against many players while Steffi's mental ruthless was coming down the hill then.

Petra Kvitova suffered a far more serious career-threatening injury, and was back on tour in 7 months after intense surgery and rehab. Some are driven, some are not.

This game went down in the history of women's tennis. It was the second shortest game in women's professional tennis.
