“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT - Jak na to + styl
I regularly use 6-axle power for switching. It’s your railroad!
The trouble with the turnout you describe at 4:40 looks like it's caused by the wheels catching the point. Since the loco is coming off a curve, the right front wheel is pushed against the right rail, and that little bit of point sticking out from the stock rail will catch the flange on the wheel and cause it to derail. filing a slight angle on the top corner of the point could help it. Instead of catching the flange, it will nudge the flange in the proper direction. Use a real turnout point as an example, they very often are worn like that. This won't show up with cars being pulled through, but pushing cars can cause the same problem. Especially if they are truck mounted.
Try it and see what you think.
the bli paragon 4 locos are amazing, they go around my sharpest curves, do not stall or hesitate, love them
Not mine. I’m avoiding BLI the best I can. My paragon 4’s I had to send back to them to get fixed.
@@jontaylor6068 I have had one that did perform, they fixed it and now runs perfectly. one out of 15 is not too bad. rapido also makes great n scle engines.
Costa Rican Coffee today. Yummy - Yummy. Nice Loco testing.
Enjoyed watching while having my BRCC freedom fuel… dark ☕️
nice review, I have some older BLI and they run fine.
Today my son is wearing an NKP 765 shirt. He’s nearly 4.
I’m waiting in a BLI Alco RSD-15, myself, but need to send back the incorrect DCC system that I was sent just the other day.
What a beauty
I use my favourites to shunt wagons and pull trains on the mainline. And the locomotive you’ve shown in your video is extremely well detailed and sounds great.
Rolling stock from multiple eras is what shows up on my layout. I don't have any issues with that.
Sounds like you need to purchase a few more BWL locos, different road numbers of course.
I only run NYC again. Thanks for the view
What a beauty!
Jimmy that a beautiful engine 😊
I love the train, just purchased for my Birthday!! It runs great the only issue, I was disappointed with NOT having rear ditch lights, for the cost would have liked to have them. Again it's still a great loco and do really like paint job. Tell your son a great pick...
Excellent video of that locomotive
I bought one in classic CN livery on the BLI refurb site
Have this in HO, hope i work a trqin with it as leader one day. I'll have nightmares of that startup bell by time I retire.
Cool idea. BNSF actually once used 3 GEVOs for the Gold Bar Turn job out here (now part of the Boeing Local as it is no longer enough work to justify its own train). They weren't hauling a bunch of cars either, it was either just the power they had available or they were picking up some cars to put on the front of their train which departed later on.
What a beautiful locomotive for switching.
I just bought the Pennsy variant of that locomotive during the recent Refurb sale. Turned out BLI did not have that one in stock, so they sent me a new one instead. I am enjoying getting to run it about my small 4x2 layout.
BLI makes some very nice locomotives, but their Paragon3 and Paragon4 electronics have some issues. On our N-scale club layout, which uses Digitrax radio throttles, out BLI engines will sometimes just stop running. As the run, we will hear the brake squeal sound and watch as the train comes to a stop. Then, a few seconds later, the train starts moving again. After a few laps it happens again. It is not dirty track, as it happens different locations around the layout. Also, this doesn't happen with our LokSound and Tsunami equipped engines, only BLI. What is worst about this is when we have a consist running, and only one unit drops out, leaving the other unit trying to run at the set speed until the other unit comes back on line
I have to say that I'm impressed for an N Scale model. I model HO Scale with Brass and Paint, weather and install DCC Sound equipped decoders with the ESU Powerpak as it's basically a requirement when working on brass. I enjoyed watching this video and I just hope I can get my little NP Y-1 2-8-0 smoother running with the new drivers and motor. Good luck Jimmy and Run Some Trains!!!
Watching while drinking Donut Shop Regular. While getting the rest of what I need to build my own MRROne 😅 After watching this; I’ll feel less weird using my favorite locomotive - a Kato BN Executive SD70Mac; for switching duties 😁
Has anyone bough refurbished locomotives from the BLI refurb site? What was your experience? I found some interesting examples on their web site.
Jimmy no Coffees but I'm chewing on some Lay's Funyon's chips they are so deliciousoso I'm hooked so far watching you run this little Southern proceed on Brother.. Ok I finished my watching not my eating chips taking this very slowly..
The Engine is detailed pretty good I think the grabs & side rails on this Engine looks about the same as I've seen on Scaletrains Engines the Ditch Lights & there fixtures looked like they we're setting level but the front porch seemed to be pointed up a wii bit Jim but the cameras could caused me seeing this the Ditch Lights Alternating looked Good the color of the Engine was crisp & sharp love that Green..
I'm on the Fence of Trying a Broadway but and with Scaletrains some of there Engines having issues I'm just on the fence to buy a sound Engine cost so much these Day even a straight DCC non sound is a bit high & if commit putting your money on something that could be a problem I just don't know But seeing these Videos do help.. I'd like to Try one of those Broadway Switchers guess maybe I just need to jump in & try one..
Thanks for sharing Video Jimmie & if your Turnout is sometimes giving you troubles try some Inox that stuff made a difference i barely have issues with dropouts its a good product for helping stop Oxidation..
Allen D
Have you tried slightly tightening the screws on the turnouts? Also cleaning them with CRC QD electronic cleaner? I had similar issues with locomotives dropping out on Kato turnouts and doing this greatly improved performance
I only run NYCentral nice box car btw
I noticed the NYC car great locomotive
When creating a consist, how do you decide how to number them ? Do you use the number of the lead locomotive ? A combination of the locomotives' numbers ? Or do you pull a number at random ?
example: When programming locomotive 1234 and locomotive 5678 as a consist, what number do you give the consist :
a) 1234 ?
b) 1256 ?
c) 9876 ?
as always great video thanks for posting
THICC handrails and grab irons
Can you tell us more about your break-in test, I know you said 8 hours, but what speed , only in forward?? Thanks
Don't argues with doors they win evertume. 😮
I don't have DCC so I'm curious how well these perform in just straight DC.
It better run good for the money they charge.
Hey, I'm new to ur channel and new to the train world. The only reason I'm here is because my son, but I need help, I got trains and tracks and building, but I don't know what wire and other stuff I need building is no problem for me I love to build I have google every thing but it really don't tell me help plz
Hey! Email me at ddrrcommunity@gmail.com
You have a son!?
DIY, do you recommend the bli es44ac paragon 4? Ive heard lots of bad things about their decoders. Thanks
