CHABAHAR, IRAN - Chabahar is located in the very southeastern corner of Iran, along the Gulf of Oman, in the Baluchestan (Balochistan) province of Iran. In this video, we ate a bunch of Balochi street food around Chabahar, and visited some of the unique Martian Mountain landscapes. It was another amazing day in Iran! #Iran #Chabahar #streetfood
Thank you to Salam Chabahar ( / salamchabahar ) and Dor Baluch ( / dor_baluch ) for hosting us and for so much hospitality in Chabahar, Iran.
For this Iranian street food tour of Chabahar, Balochistan, we started in the heart of the city, with a classic breakfast - paratha and a variety of curries. Amazing food, delicious breakfast. We then continued through the main Chabahar Market and on to taste some Chabahar biryani, followed by some of the famous Chabahar bananas.
Martian Mountains - Chabahar, Iran - This is one of the most unique landscapes in Iran, and in the world. The mountains, known as the Martian Mountains, might be as close to Mars as we will ever get. They are truly unique and spectacular especially because of the lack of vegetation so you can see every geographical shape and pattern.
Kebabs - We then continued on to eat kebabs for lunch and fried fish - an amazing meal. The food was to me a mix of Middle Eastern and Persian, all over hot rice smothered in butter and sour orange. An outstanding meal in Chabahar, must eat at when you are there.
Chabahar is a street food paradise at night, because the sun is so hot during the day. You’ll find kebabs galore, and a dish called haleem, a porridge of beans / lentils, and what makes it for me are the toppings of fried shallots, fresh chilies, and lime juice. So amazing I had to have two bowls. We continued eating more street food Chabahar, to wrap up this amazing food day in Chabahar, Iran!
Thank you to Ghasr Setareh ( / ghasr_setareh ) for arranging our trip to Iran.

Hope you are doing well, and keeping safe and healthy, and at home if possible. This video was filmed back in Dec 2019, before the coronavirus outbreak. Thank you for all your concerns. We are at home in Bangkok now (stay tuned for update next video on Wednesday). Thoughts and prayers to everyone affected in Iran and around the world. And for those of us at home and healthy, let's keep positive, we'll make it through this! 🙏🙏

Thank you Mark👍🏻
Take care and stay safe🤞💚
Thanks, be safe.
Good god Mark you guys are safe and at home. Take some time for a break, enjoy your mother in law's cooking! It's been a while seeing her cooking 👍
Any idea why some of the people in this video are wearing a face mask? Stay safe and thanks for the amazing videos.
Sir Balochistan is the Provence of Pakistan not Iran
This guy is such a positive person wherever he goes, you respect every culture no matter which continent you're on. Your positive energy could single-handedly solve racism and all disputes.
@@patssoxceltics haha trust me there are people like him in every culture and every region....obdience ...that is the problem ...ego of listening to others and following them is the main cause of racism and all vonflicts

So so true. I watch all of Mark's videos not just for food, but for his positive attitude and the cultural awareness and understanding that we all need.

This place is just like any Pakistani city. Same dresses. Same food. Same faces. Much different from majority Iranian culture. Nice to see a mini Pakistan in Iran. Love from Pakistan to Irani brothers❤️
we are brother thats not differenet please you come to iran.love iran for pakistan.
This is exactly the route which Alexander took to come back from then India (now Pakistan) Baluchistan into Persia (now Iran). He died in Iran .... Per PBC Documentary I saw. Gawadar Port of Pakistan is only 40 miles south of here. Very strategic and historical corner of the world
What I love about Mark is how he breaks down these cultural barriers. Any other person would watch the news and be told that these cultures are somehow evil or that these are very dangerous places, yet you watch Mark go to these places and they have the nicest people and the greatest food ive ever seen! Food can really bring people together!
Becuz it's the govts of these countries that are a*holes - NOT the people. But Americans tend to generalize govt behavior to the people, the cultures.
You are welcome, please do not forget bring your hijab
I just really appreciate how Mark always makes an effort to experience everything just like a local the way he dresses into that white kurta not walking around in shorts and t-shirt like most of the tourists 👍

Mark. Thank you for giving me a new perspective on a country that gets such bad press in the West.
I agree, Iranians are very hospitable people and the food looks delicious.
Notice the lack of women in the streets because they are locked up at home ,the ones you did see covered head to toe .would never visit a country like that solely on the way they treat women
Brian muckdee A point that merits discussion so thanks Brian. Mine was that for many in the West, Iran is full of mad terrorists intent on causing havoc and that this vid showed friendly people...albeit mainly men. Sadly in today’s world there are so many ‘faults’ in countries that might make one hesitate to visit them and I include US and Europe...racism, sexism, anti semitism
Brian muckdee You‘re disrespectful
@@briandorayou are completely wrong ! as a person who visited Iran specialy this proveince I can tell you that you gatta be a fool to have this kinda conclusion from a food tour video , at the center of city of chabahar there is a bazar which balouchi women making beautiful hand made clothes , souvenirs, and working side by side with men and they don't lock them self in their houses! if you wanna do something for humanity go do something for racisem and sexism against women in your own country

Wow. Great clip. The dude with the wild hair and the glasses is FAR out there. Mark's guides are really cool. The more you watch Mark's clips, the more you see how much interaction there is in eating street food, plus, the technical skill of eating here was at the far end of difficult. You know?
