Sorry, but can i ask you some questions? If the colour of tooth with amalgam starts to change and the colour become darker. Is it because tarnish with corrosion or just tarnish?

And, in the case, it explains that the amalgam is broken and she never come to her dentist for 10 years

Hi.. tarnish is surface phenomenon, it's continuation is corrosion... So they both will cause discoloration.. but if you are asked about surface discoloration, then tarnish is a better answer of the two.

@@dentalscholar i forget to add the more explanation about the case. It tells us that the amalgam become darker and crack on the edge. The patient has been using amalgam for 10 years. So it is because tarnish and corrosion, right? But, i confused because i can't choose which type of corrosion happen on the amalgam. Can you help me to choose which corrosion that suitable to the case
