Yes, but in Spain for example it's +10K without any extras. Golf comes with matix led, keyless, akrapovic, leather, keyless, carbon fiber... The 5 cylinder it's great but with the same equipment RS3 it's more than +15K or more.

I’ve been looking at RS3’s. A new one will run you $65-$70k out the door of a dealership (fully loaded) A used one (2018-2021) with under 40k miles will run about $55-$60k

Rs3 starts at 65k euro and at this price it has 0 options: no music , no matrix , no nappa, no ceramic breaks, no sun roof, no heated seats :)) , no black packet, not the best weels, no metalic paint , no airbags for the back seats!!! , no 360 video camera , no confort key access, no 3 zone clima ,no privacy galss , no electric hayon, no head up display and etc . I just configurated one as you said fully loaded with ceramic breaks and carbon eleron so true fully loaded and the list price îs 97.000 euro !!! Maybe you get a 10~15% off so the car is 85~k euro at least. So a decent rs3 configuration is 85k euro price list at minimum vs 55k euro VW R .
Hey, I'm really amazed by the fact today you can drive this car and make a road test of it. At the end of august 2022, I asked 3 local dealers to by one of these 8R 20 years edition, not matter what color between lapis blue and white (I'm don't mind). Everyone said that if I am ordering one today (so at the end of august), the car will be delivered to me in september... 2023 ! What a shame really. I am just living in Belgium, so not in a so far away country from the production factory. So I dropped the idea of that car and I ordered a second Renault Megane RS Trophy instead in the beginning of september 2022, this will be the last production batch and today the Megane RS couldn't be ordered anymore. Delivery around march 2023, 6 months less than the Golf 8R 20 Years. More than 1 year waiting for a Golf is silly.
The pops and bangs are nice for stock opf 2022 car BUT over 70k € for a Golf is just .... no words for that

my parents bought me a 20 years edition of gti mark 3 in 2002, wasnt new but still, i got my edition when i was young and needed it the most...that was some times, trveling to Adriatic for a summer work, travelling to Netherlands, pushing my silver baby on german auto ban next to hell fast germans...without a gti, it would be completly diferent life...my grand father and father where mechanics all they life, so after more than 50 years in mechanics, i was the one who got dohc intake head engine....allmost two working lifes to have a twin cam as a youngster...

Living with the normal 8 r for 6 months now. Interior no longer bothers me. The actual quality of the interior is good. Sure it’d be far better to have some buttons but it’s really not that bad. I think I’ve only miss clicked the heated steering wheel once. All the climate control options I never touch as I leave it in auto. Only thing that bothers me is having to turn off lane assist, start stop and choosing individual mode, on every single start up.
@@Adambroughton29 To be fair, I am a bit overexaggerating since most of the controls you do let on Auto, but I heard from many drivers that the heating steering wheel button is really badly placed...
Maybe the facelift version will be better though?
Maybe you´ll like the Golf 8R facelift, since they are propably getting rid of the touch steeringwheel

I think most of the time it’s the automatic setting kicking in the heated wheel as it just starts with that on its on below certain temperatures and then many people noticed it when it got hot and thought they turned it on by accident I can’t remember a time I accidentally pressed the button even on the track last summer and for the touchy interior
No one complains about touch on your smartphone and for those who say you need to look at your smartphone I think most of you can type a message without looking it’s the same in the car once you’re used to the placement it works just like a button but allows for many more functions than a non touch infotainment

I rewatched your video of the normal performance pack golf r that you uploaded in December 2020.
On wet tarmac on winter tyres it did 4.4 0-100 twice, 11.5 100-200 and 15.9 0-200.
The golf r 20 did 4.48 0-100 , 11.1 100-200, 16.1 0-200
Are there any differences in performance, other than the aesthetic and exhaust noise differences? The real world numbers suggest no real performance difference. If you can call .4 of a second 100-200 an improvement, however the normal golf is quicker 0-100 and 0-200.
It did 4.42 in this video on second attempt. Also take into account that it`s colder in December, cold air helps turbo engine to make more torque and as a result more power
VW told me that there is a technical/software difference between the 2020s engine and this new version now. And you can definitely feel a different setup as the engine pulls up quicker from lower rpms and feels more responsive after gear shifts. It's hard to compare the two tests we did 2 years apart as wind plays a major role.....anyhow, I think the car is very fast for "only" 333 hp, would go for the 20 years as its the better package.
I was considering the 20 years but decided to go for the normal R instead. Is the driving experience between them any significant or are these just minor differences?

Ordered a standard R - these minor performance improvements (if at all) do not justify the steep price increase in my eyes (leased car - 380 to ~520 € a month).

@@latlak Sometimes there are good offers online. Mine was 329 € for 36 month and 10.000 km without deposit (no business). With my configuration it went from 330 to 380. The offer expired in August though...

Not as fast as I expected, my Mk 7 wagon did 0-60 in 4.62 seconds when it was stock. Remap and mods costing £2000 and now does it in 3.5 seconds. Older models much easier to mod.
You can mod the mk8 now too. And even more gains to have. Stage 1 near 400bhp. Stage 2 near 420 bhp.
In mk7 stage 2+ almost doesn't touch 400.

Mein Crossfire SRT 6 aus 2005 mit 334ps hatte vor 17 Jahren schon fast die gleichen Zeiten.
Jetzt ist da aber auch eine uralte Automatik verbaut.
Das ganze Auto basiert auf den SLK welcher seit 1996 produziert wird.
GPS Top-Speed 284km/h und 100-200 13,4s.
Ich kann mit den ganzen Golf Modellen einfach 0 anfangen
@@malix5667 100-200 in 11,1 sec ist deutlich schneller wie deine 13,4 Sekunden ..das sind über 100m die der Golf vorne wäre im direkten Duell.

Hab eine uralte Mercedesautomatik aus dem W203 verbaut.
Der Golf muss mit seinem schnellen DSG und weniger Gewicht (Auto-data.net) doch schneller sein.
Zudem ist meiner ein schöner 3.2 V6 Kompressor und keine 2.0 Popcornschüssel die an jeder Ecke steht.
Ein Golf 7 R ist letztens aber nicht weggezogen, ganz im Gegenteil.
Man darf halt nicht vergessen, dass zwischen den zwei Autos einfach fast zwei Jahrzehnte dazwischen liegen.
Am Ende soll ja jeder das fahren, worauf er Bock hat.
@@malix5667 ein Golf 7R hat auch nur 300 PS und keine 333 wie der 8R Performance. Logisch das der nicht weggezogen ist. Und das zwischen 333 und 334PS nicht mehr als die von mir genannten 100m durch modernere Technik liegen können ist eingetlich auch klar denn 334 PS vor 15 Jahren sind halt 334PS..auch heute noch. Nur leider kapieren die wenigsten das der Golf 8R in erster Linie für kurvige Strecken gebaut ist mit Allrad,DSG und Torque Vectoring an der Hinterachse. Und da lässt er deine Amerikanische Badewanne ( ein Freund hatte einen damals, ich weiß wie das Ding fährt) und auch andere Kaliber mit deutlich mehr Leistung stehen das du denkst du schiebst deinen Crossfire rückwärts. Und genau für diese Wendigkeit ist der 2.0 L perfekt. Ein größerer Motor wäre einfach nur tödlich für die Agilität.

With summer tires it will also beaten the normal R (which takes 10.8 sec from 100 to 200!!). Because it is faster here than the normal R with winter tires (who takes 11.3 sek). Its 0.2 seks faster. I think under the same conditions it takes ca 10,6-10,5 sek from 100-200 with summer tires which is brutal for just 333 hp. Its amazing how fast this car is. I have a normal R with performance package and i can confirm the exceptionnal performance.

I let it to every bodies own guess if there's any point to say ohh-yess after each single 0-100 km/h acceleration comment which is with an 4-& a half seconds nothing really outstanding if compared with its direct competitors at the time!

A difference of 13ps is barely noticeable. It probably doesnt have more power than the normal R since the normal R has already about 340ps.
And more windy conditions. But a second more or less is irrelevant anyway. The way it drives and if you like that is way more important.

my mk6R can do the exact same thing at the start with traction off, and it does the exact same thing when you lose grip for too long a split second later cuts all power and cancels the power slide..
it's still inferior to the 8 tho
