Tennessee had tax free weekend at the end of July for school supplies, some appliances, and some clothes. 2 years ago it included food. Last year we had a 3 month tax free holiday on food (9.75% sales tax). No food tax holiday at all this year.
I got some backpacks a couple weeks or so ago, they had some for $5 each and they were pretty good quality for the price. We homeschool, but I got them to use for our emergency bags, to organize our things and when we go places. I love their $15 gift card w/ $50 purchase and try to stock up on household items as needed. This time they've had the deal for 2 weeks in a row, and I'm working toward a Target Circle bonus that will give me $25 more, on top of the 5% I save each time I use my Target debit card. I also bought one of those first aid bags last year. They have that offer every now and then and I do need another bag. I use it to store all my bandaids in. I take them out of the boxes and put into baggies so it's easy enough to see what is what. Target isn't the only place I shop at, but one of the main ones and I always find ways to save money when I shop there.
I really wish we could take advantage of the tax free days. However, for the first few months I worked at the school last school year, they somehow weren't taking the medical insurance out of my check. So through the summer my checks have been cut by more than half😢 Due to getting some things we needed with my last check I have none of it left and my husband and I don't get paid until the 15th, well after the tax free time is over 😕 My husband's check went all to bills. I have to go to a food pantry this morning or tomorrow. Thankfully my last check was the last very small one they were getting my medical insurance caught up with.
A couple of years ago, I was going to buy/donate some school supplies. Most of the stores had lists, and, looking over them, only name brand products were "acceptable." All of them specically said no Rose Art crayons, only Crayola. A certain brand of # 2 pencils. No generic cleaning wipes. Things like that. The only exceptions were the binders (even though there were some "preferences"), paper and notebooks. I was not able to buy as much as I would have liked. I honestly don't know how families with a lot of school-age children do it.
I collaborated with a local school principal recently, and instead of my usual several hundered in school supplies, I purchased socks, tennis shoes and uniform polo shirts for the school to give out if there is a student need. Anything you gave to the kids is very Awesome!!!
Hi Danno no unfortunately Georgia doesn't have a tax free day . Yes kids can use a microwave at school, hopefully some one is there to supervise them. Have a wonderful day .
Ohio used to be tax free weekend but this year it is an entire week. I saved so much. I got all of GS school clothes and supplies. Also due to a thieft, I replaced my Kindle Fire, Kindle Paperwhite and bought a HP laptop computer. All tax free. Plus I get 2% back from my charge card. Not much but I'll take it. I'm moving out of state and figured this was the time to bite the bullet and buy it.
South Catolina had tax free this past weekend. We found some things were cheapervat Target, and some were cheaper at Walmart, but there wasn't much of a price difference. In general, just a few cents per item. My son has to have an expensive calculator, and it was 10 bucks cheaper at Target, plus I got 5 percent off with the Target debit card, and I got 25 bucks off my next trip to Target. Target won this time.
off topic .It is currently 66 degrees F here at my pit stop on my road trip and it is 2pm. Thank You, IOWA.. its been great! Onward... Hello, Minnesota!
I think Walmart has cheaper prices
Walmart actually has most of these items cheaper but it’s nice to know what’s available at target.
Thank you for the info and the video!
Yes! That was Bluey!
Yes that is bluey
When the store throws up a clearance sale, it is usually Inventory time

Target has a 14 day free trial for their delivery club ! I tried it and was impressed with their grocery prices and gift card bonuses !
Thank you Danno ❤️✝️
You're very welcome
My Walmart was out of 50¢ Crayola crayons today and only a few crazy art and pen and ink brand. Fortunately Kroger had the Crayola at 50¢. NW GA

Good morning. I haven't had to buy backpacks for years. I'm shocked how high they are.
Good morning. No doubt
Stark county here…bought my son’s dorm fridge and microwave during this tax-free period!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Onward... Hello, Minnesota!
In Minnesota all ways tax free on clothes.
Pa does not have tax free weeks. We don't have tax on food or clothes.
Target is expensive anyway so that makes up for the taxes
Don’t shop at taeget
2months of summer and already back to school 😊
Good morning Danno & Jess, wish we had no tax days in Michigan.
Mississippi also has a tax free weekend for back to school shopping
Do you know when it is this year?
Dano u missed out on Target back yo school sale. A few weeks ago crayola markers/ crayons etc were .99 . The target brand ones were .50.
Good morning, Dano. I love your Target videos. Target is one of my favorite stores .tied with Wegmans.
Good morning! Thank you
I heard that some schools were demanding that the back packs be clear in order to see what is inside.
That has been happening for several years in some places
We don't shop at Target but to be fair there isn't one for at least 60 miles.
how are they doing the tax-free? do they just give a discount of what the taxes would accumulate to instead of actually making them tax exempt?
In Oklahoma we have a tax free weekend. Only 3 days. Oddly, it doesn’t include any school supplies.
Nope, no tax free days in Indiana 😢
I know. I ordered all of GS school clothes and supplies to my house in Ohio and took them over to Indy.
Good morning Danno
Good morning
Best to go to $store
.99 cent store went under...
