You don't even Know what a Theocracy is. A Theocracy is Not "Rule by Religion", it means The Head of State is a god. Having said that, I Really don't Think All the Condemnation of "Theocracy" where it is "Rule By Religion" is Accurate Anyway. I Have No Reason whatsoever to Think if Religious Leaders Run a Country's it Must be Tyrannical and lack Freedom. Examples like Saudi Arabia and Iran don't Really prove that is By Definition what a "Theocracy" is. Not Only are They Not Theocracies, Really, but Why Assume that is the ONLY way it could be?
In Reality, there is Only One Theocracy on Earth, and it is Not a Tyranny. It is The Vatican City-State. While We Think of The Pope as its Ruler, its own laws say Christ is its King, so The Head of State is Jesus Christ, Who is God. The Vatican City-State is Also a Remnant of The Old Papal States. Historically, The Papal States did not Function like Iran and Saudi Arabia and Were Nothing like The Handmaidens Tale.

It is a very important took in helping people label an idolatrous spirit that is arising in our churches. Once we can put a name to the sin, we can repent of it. There is a huge difference between being a patriotic Christian and being a Christian nationalist. When your hope is in the nation to save the world and/or one particular political party/candidate more than Christ himself, then you are a Christian nationalist. This is a very dangerous twist of scripture that makes America the idol of worship in Christs name. It sets America up to be a tool that God himself can't function without to bring salvation to this world. It is straight up Idolatry and infiltrating our churches. There needs to be division there because Christian Nationalism should have no place in our church.

In FOUR Gospels, Christ never even remotely suggests that His disciples should have dominion over others, or that non-believers should be coerced into living according to "biblical" standards. Additionally, Christ gives us The Greatest Commandment, part of which tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves.....BUT you cannot simultaneously love your neighbor and also force them to live according to your own personal "interpretation" of scripture and beliefs. Additionally, as far as what the Founding Fathers intended, check out the Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11....and also consider that a number of our Founding Fathers were DEISTS, not Christians, and wanted a complete separation of Church and State.

"Nationalism is a political, social, and economic system characterized by the promotion of the interests of a particular nation, especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining sovereignty (self-governance) over the homeland. The political ideology of nationalism holds that a nation should govern itself, free from outside interference and is linked to the concept of self-determination. Nationalism is further oriented towards developing and maintaining a national identity based on shared, social characteristics, such as culture and language, religion and politics, and a belief in a common ancestry. Nationalism, therefore, seeks to preserve a nation's culture, by way of pride in national achievements, and is closely linked to patriotism, which, in some cases, includes the belief that the nation should control the country's government and the means of production."

I am so tried of all the stupid liberal rhetoric claiming crazy Christians are trying to establish a theocracy. Read Ben Franklins prayer speech from the Constitutional convention
      Mr. President:
The small progress we have made after 4 or five weeks close attendance & continual reasonings with each other -- our different sentiments on almost every question, several of the last producing as many noes as ays, is methinks a melancholy proof of the imperfection of the Human Understanding. We indeed seem to feel our own want of political wisdom, since we have been running about in search of it. We have gone back to ancient history for models of government, and examined the different forms of those Republics which having been formed with the seeds of their own dissolution now no longer exist. And we have viewed Modern States all round Europe, but find none of their Constitutions suitable to our circumstances.
In this situation of this Assembly groping as it were in the dark to find political truth, and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us, how has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understandings? In the beginning of the contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the Divine Protection. -- Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance.
I have lived, Sir, a long time and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without [H]is notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without [H]is aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings that "except the Lord build they labor in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without [H]is concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall be become a reproach and a bye word down to future age. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments by Human Wisdom, and leave it to chance, war, and conquest.
I therefore beg leave to move -- that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the Clergy of this City be requested to officiate in that service.

I am a follower of Jesus. Jesus of Nazareth. The Son of Man, the Son of God. My allegiance is completely to Him. I am proud to be an American born citizen and I am 110% grateful to live in this nation. But I also know America has a very flawed history, and a multitude of people have done horrific things in the name of Christ. Again, there is nothing wrong with being patriotic, but as Christians, our allegiance should primarily be to Jesus, and not to the Bill of Rights, or politicians, or even the flag. Actions speak louder than words. Proverbs teaches us to watch our tongues, so if we want to speak truth to others, let it be done with all gentleness and humility. If we truly want to make a change in this country (and the world), we need to completely surrender to Jesus, allow the Holy Spirit to produce the fruits of the Spirit within us, and LOVE/serve our neighbor! True freedom is found in Christ, not the preamble of the Declaration of Independence.

The founders were deists, not Christians. Christians couldn't kill their British brothers, the Native Americans, etc. just for a country or to avoid paying the king his taxes, nor could they have slaves. The US is a free country, not a Christian country. Christianity isn't something we are to force on people. We're called to love our neighbors, to help them, to testify of Jesus to them, to teach, to ourselves live like Christ etc, but not to force others into our beliefs. One can only gain relationship with Jesus if he so willingly lays down his life & desires that, not by force. Many evangelicals seem to have "religion", but not an actual relationship with Jesus. They lack so much understanding.
