    I've been doing some research on this for my stereo upgrade. One of the guys I work with have used the PAC units with much success. The company name is PAC Audio (just do a quick Google search and you will get the website), and they have a "where to buy" locator.

    Is it worth getting the PAC or is it better to jus get a aftermarket harness and do as such..

    Is the stock stereo on a 2016 Impala Limited LT upgradable?

    i am starting a build on a customer's 2010 impala and was wondering what year the impala in this video is so i know if it is an accurate reference to use. I mostly specialize in imports so I am not very familiar with Impalas and I am finding that there is very little info in forums on this car. My customer just wants basic subs so I plan on tapping into the speaker outputs behind the stock head unit since they are low level outputs already they don't need a box style high low adapter since they have the bose system, I assume it has an onboard amp somewhere which means the speaker outputs on the head unit are low level outputs. (which is why that PAC adapter you used can adapt them straight to RCA.) I mainly need to know the best remote and power wire methods as the HU does not have a switched 12v wire and I am unsure of the voltage on the amp turn on wire. Will have to do more research but would love to know what year this is. Thanks!

    Did you have to enter a code for your radio to operate after you disconnected the battery cable?

    • @Reaglesracing44_
      @Reaglesracing44_ Před 9 lety

      slario75 no you should not have to. it remains in the Body Control Module. only way you should need a code it if you swap the radio with a different car. the radios are VIN coded to that specific vehicle.

    i went to best buy and they said that if i wanted to put a different car stereo in my 2011 impala the harness for this car would be over $150 ...and i have to get some extra shit to make everything work on the car ...so i would have to spend over $300 just to install my jvc car stereo in the 2011 impala...THATS REAL STUPID FOR GM TO MAKE CARS LIKE THAT ....i rather have a old school car again!
