    I spoke to a TYM representative today because I’m looking at the 394. Same as the RK37. Apparently they are considering pulling out of RK because of no service. On the original agreement RK was supposed to have parts and service.

    Well Mr.Maynard ,sounds like your RK37rc is "almost" a good tractor. With these "light-weight" hours you have had your issue's. Your "Rig" sure looks like a "clean-machine". It just looks like it NEEDS some lubrication "slobbered on eveywhere"!! ( know it collects dirt-grime) but it HELPS All the "little-things". Just have to pile some MORE hours on it to really "break it in". BTW. The hydraulic speed can be improved upon by changing hoses & fittings( they are restricted for safty)... improved my rigs by doing this, sometimes by40%!! Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

    Thank you for doing this video. I will be a first time tractor owner and have narrowed it down to Kubota, Kioti, RK and Massey. Such a large purchase, all the info you gave helps a lot

    Thanks for the 2 year review. After watching your video's and doing some research I decided to get a TYM 574HC (RK55's twin brother). Liked the idea of having a little bigger cab, and a bit more horse power so that I can use bigger implements. Appreciate your candor regarding RK and parts, that was one of my biggest concerns about RK in general, hence why I decided on getting a TYM.

    I have the hydro-static version of the same tractor. I bought it at the same Rural King location in Ocala where you bought yours and bent the same hydraulic cylinder in much the same fashion. I was clearing vegetation out of a drainage ditch with my grapple and back dragged at an angle with the cylinder fully extended. The cloud of hydraulic spray clued me in that something was wrong. I went on the RK Tractor website, used the "Ask the RK Tractor Guy" option and was quickly emailed the part number and price of the replacement cylinder. Price wasn't bad (about $325 if I remember correctly). I called Brian's replacement (Julian, I think?) at the Ocala store and gave him the part number. He was able to order it and have it shipped straight to me in less than a week. Was a simple change-out. I would give you the part number if I could find my receipt. I have found that when the AC starts to struggle on hot days while mowing, it's time to blow the grass and dust out of the AC condenser and radiator. That helps tremendously and allows the AC to keep up pretty well.

    Nice video, sir. I have the RK37HC. I dont have the problems that you have due to it being a hydro. I was going to do a review on my tractor as well. I well say that the 37 is a little power house for the size..

    I had a wire cable on my VW car and it broke. The replacement came from Brazil and was hard to find. I put several on myself and one stuck open and tbe car shot off. i was on a rural road or i would have rear-ended somebody. I was able to stop it. Always a problem: rope cable, Spring. Ugh. Springs break too.

    check your front axel fluid. there are 3 drains, 2 low on wheel hub. rk only drainded the center one leaving 2/3 old oil. look to see if the drains are still painted shut.

    I have the same problem with the lower lift lever. As soon as I get back in town from being out of town working I’m gonna take it apart and take it to a machine shop and have them reinforc it. Aggravating. Why use something so flimsy 🤷‍♂️

    Looks like the throttle cable grommet pulled out. The cables need love & lube. My RK 55 rear remote lift lever sticks sometimes.🤔

    What is the front axle weight capacity on this tractor? Seems to have a higher lift capacity than Kubota, New Holland, etc. Just wondering if the axles is designed for so much loader.

    • @MaynardFamilyHomestead
      @MaynardFamilyHomestead  Před 11 měsíci

      Not sure on the axle capacity, but I know the loader lift capacity is 2116 lbs. JD and Kubota is around 1500-1700lbs.

    The problem with RK is they're not a tractor dealer, they only have minimal shop facilities (if any) and they're just a rebranded TYM tractor. I like the RK but I bought the TYM just because they have a full facility maintenance shop.

      Works great. It is a live PTO, meaning it stays running even when the clutch is depressed.

    I was going to buy one of the RK 37 tractors but not now. Service is number one thing we need as consumers, maybe I got that wrong DEPENDABILITY IS NUMBER 1. I will buy a used ford or John Deer. Thanks for the WARNING.

    Do you rhink TYM is having parts issues to or do you think it's a RK thing? I'm thinking TYM is prioritizing parts for themselves and
    just isn't taking care of the RK stores . What so you think. I'm very interested in a TYM.

    • @MaynardFamilyHomestead
      @MaynardFamilyHomestead  Před 10 měsíci +1

      It’s a Rural King problem for sure. I went to the TYM dealership and they said they were able to order the part for me, it was just more expensive.

    Hi I'm looking to buy a RK 37 and like to ask you a few questions about your tractor. I once sent both cylinders on a small massy Ferguson. I pulled both off pulled them apart and bent them true with a hydraulic press from harbor freight was A $199 press and it worked wonderfully. I tore up the oring seal's from using it with bent cylinders before I noticed cost 23 cents each was 6 of them. .I could help you walk you through it I have several steel V blocks from my Cousin worked at Greenfield Tapa and Die Company as Machinest and mechanic if I had to ask to barrow a tool I would go out and get two of them one for me and one for someone to barrow!! I needed to bend the rides way past what center was because they are hardened steel and bend back. Please get back with me. Like to discuss details on your tractor. I am looking for the age tires and wheels and do you have the other set for sale. Thanks for your video and information. Bless you and stay well Dale.

      Thanks for the info! I never thought about using a hydraulic press to straighten it out.
      Rural King actually changed the tires out for me and kept the old ones.

    We loved our Rk 37... but now I'd say don't do it.It's all great when you buy the tractor, but when you need a part, it takes months. I've been waiting since 4/21 for a part!!!! And you can't even get contact corporate

    • @MaynardFamilyHomestead

      It’s unfortunate really. They are affordable tractors that done stink terribly. RK needs to step up their customer service.

    Just a thought, take your damaged hydraulic cylinder to a repair shop to have repaired it will be much cheaper.
