They can be interesting in their own way because of the things they do an why they did those things.
The 'garage band' sound contributed to the darkness of their horror stories. It really is scarier than American Horror Story, listening to his (first person point of view) narrative about chasing down helpless victims along with his deranged religious and sexual outlook and the medical terminology with a muddy garage band sound ..it all fit the bill to imagine/direct a horror film mentally about what it was actually like being Jack The Ripper. They actually had the talent (riff wise) and a little something special to add (Phil Bozeman) which makes it all come to life. The Somatic Defilement sounds like a deliberately crafted masterpiece that can't be enhanced or made any scarier by any means of editing to adjust the fidelity. I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't create a successful short horror film using bits of the album, without interrupting the storyline or becoming annoying to a niche audience.
