This is one of those rare songs which accomplishes what few groups rarely do--the touching of one's soul. The Doors often did it, Steppenwolf, the seminal English band Rare Bird, Iron Butterfly, and of course, Bob Dylan come to mind. I'm sure there are many others, but it doesn't happen that often.
Oh the field dried up in the summer's light As I wander home the spirits high If I don't look so good pay no mind Young girl you know who I am Took care of all my sins I come to you a better man Are you calling me? What's that sound? All you're taking up holds me down All this weight on my shoulders As I fall to the floor All this weight on my shoulders "You believed me" I wish you'd say As the sun beats through the windowpane I come from far away Say hello to my lonely kiss Goodbye to all my sins Everything comes down to this Oh and I know the story I'm under your skin Oh and I know the story As I circle around you again (x2)
I love that album...but I did feel it was one of their weakest (using weakest loosely, because I did love the album). Thank goodness Hamilton kept on after with his solo stuff...such beautiful music after such an incredible band. Saw them randomly at the Queen Mary so many years ago...fell in love with the band that night and its been that way ever since!
@TheBallplayer93 Hamilton explained that they never had much luck with audiences in Europe except for the portuguese audience who gave them a warm welcome. That's why they felt inspired to record the album and later named it after the portuguese capitol, Lisbon.
this band has never disappointed me...

Thank you for this song. It makes me feel good in terrible situations.
i really like their style.. sounds like 70's rock.. old fashion simple music, no effects, etc, just talent
Me convierto en alguna otra persona al escuchar esto! Esto se me mete hasta las entrañas. Muy buena música.
How did this not make it onto Lisbon? Love this song so much!
What a song!
Sad that these guys just kept getting better and better, releasing the absolutely perfect album Heaven, and then they were gone.

You can save this link and convert the file to upload to your i-pod, for example.
porque esta canción no viene en el álbum? alguien lo sabe?
It is a Lisbon outtake that was released as a 7" along with Good Days Carry On
Seems a bit of a waste to not have been put on the album.
