Why not buy a large green tarpaulin for your roof. Firstly, you keep the rainwater completely out, for the time being anyway.... Tie it around the edge under your roof and place some long bamboo on top!
So that the wind cannot get underneath it. This way you will be completely dry for years. Do the same in the kitchen.
It would be nicer if you used palm leaves. Firstly, they last much longer than posy reeds and look much nicer, but I don't know if there are palm trees near you but I often see that in other Vietnam videos. The most beautiful solution is eternite corrugated sheets, but of course I can't look into your wallet.
