This is truly an oddity of a game. This game looked like one of the best games ever made, came out, and then it *was.* How many games have been exactly as incredible as you believed they would be from reveal to release? I can't think of any besides this one. So friggin good.

I'm gonna nitpick here haha. I agree that showing gameplay is superior especially when the gameplay itself is actually as fun as it's made out to be. BUT it's ALL CGI. More accurately you should say "pre-rendered cutscenes or cinematics". Literally everything in a video game is always computer generated imagery.

Thank god it's the actual game considering how outdated the graphics looks, there is literaly no difference with Dark Souls 3 graphics it looks like a fan made trailer lmao, especially after playing Demon's souls remake who looked incredible, after this From Software's old gen looks really outdated. It's kinda sad because the art direction of their game is always incredible but its impact is not as huge as it could because of the bad graphics. Not to mention the fact that they kept the same animations as DS3 which gives the feeling of playing more a DLC than a brand new game. It's a bit disapointing tbh since it's a new IP and a next gen game I was hoping for a big improvement of their engine

Here a week after release. Game actually is living up the the hype. Went with warrior first, quickly switched up to prophet and never looked back. Spells in this game are so incredibly fun. As a souls veteran this is quickly turning into my favorite souls game.
I’m 55 hours in and I feel like I’ve barely gotten started.

2:21 on is still just the absolute best sequence of clips I've ever seen. The shot of the Tarnished leaping at Godrick is so iconic. Still gives me goosebumps
My first kill of Godrick happened after a jump attack towards him, dodging his ground pound AOE. Literally felt like I'd taken this scene from the trailer into my game. I was beyond hype.

This is the first story game in a long time where I never got bored. When I first began playing Elden Ring I thought the game was so weird... just different and I kept saying "what a weird game" and thats what got me everything was so different, the look of the monsters, the open map, the way you get from A to B is very unconventional. Also a very beautiful game. The PVP is pretty cool too. The only thing I wish was that you could choose to play togethers with others all the way so you dont have to summon eachother and also making the pvp a bit faster to join (however it is nice to wait cuz then ur more excited tho). But overall wow what a game, I am amazed.

@Shin Shaman each of the FromSoftware franchises have different gameplay systems but similar style of game, the Dark Souls series is different from Bloodborne, and those are both different from Sekiro, and Elden Ring will have it's own gameplay differences from those. Actually play the games and you'll realize that much.

The formula has been refined and had new elements added every single game. If you're mad they adhere to a set STYLE of gameplay... go fuckin yell at CoD or Far Cry or something.
Coming back to this trailer and recognising each and every frame makes my heart happy. What they showed in trailer is actually in the game. GOTY 2022
What makes me happiest is that it was the wolf guy with the red wave blade and the floating moose that I wanted to fight the most, and they ended up being exactly as good as the trailer suggested. Maliketh and the Regal Ancestor Spirit are my favorite bosses. Amazing how a single second of gameplay of both bosses could tell you so much about them. True quality.

A bit late to the party but at the 200 hour mark, I've finally beaten the game for the first time. It was the most agonizing yet greatest gaming experience of my life.
I'm 60 hours in and struggling my way through Leyndell. That said, i surprised myself this morning by beating Rykard solo on the first try. And he's the one boss i always found the most intimidating based on the footage i'd seen. XD
it took me exactly 50hr to clear the game with all the bosses that have an achievement. I only had fun with malenia cuz I was laughing my ass off to how ridiculous and dumb this sekiro dlc boss that somehow made it into er is. solid game but for me personally it was frustrating for 60% of my time with it
@@dorianpompa8409 I think I spent roughly 30 of those 200 hours just practicing Melania for fun. I knew about how difficult she was so I made it my goal to master her fight before I even decided to beat the game lmao
Elden Ring is a game the industry has needed ever since the trash ps4 hit stores in 2014. It blows boring ps exclusives out the sky and Im glad ER came crashing through. It reminds me of old xbox 360 games. Pure quality. And I agree its the best game thats dropped in the past decade along with RDR2.

With the reviews now out its safe to say this game lived up to the hype and in many ways surpassed it. This is going to be remembered as one of the greatest games of all time.
This game is a dream come true. Barring nitpicks, I've been continuously impressed and filled with wonder.

I’m not a gamer. I was actually the one who used to say to my mates that I didn’t have time to play these open world games and here I am… Over a 130hrs in the game and still playing it as if I was in the beginning. Now I make time for it and I don’t even play it if I won’t put at least 2/3 hours straight into the game lol What a master piece! 💥💥💥

@@TheArrivalCyberse true but I think its more of the art used the giant glowing gold tree is the exact same as the world tree in berzerk an Miyazaki has in the past has stated he's a huge fan of Miura's work. although berserk won't continue it will always be remembered and loved by dark fantasy lovers for decades to come.

@@isopropyl1314 To be fair the tree does exist in the Berserk verse. Though obviously it's orgins are much much different. Long story short Griffith turned it into a life tree that actually fed an entire nation. I think it was supposed to be a parallel.
