i agree with his take.. history is much more nuanced and complex than what we are told.. and the versions we are taught are always biased according to whoever won the war and was in power while writing it

اكيد في جانب من المسؤولية على المحتكرين من اهل البلد ولكن حضرتك كتير صغرت من حجم الوحشية والتصفية العرقية للعثمانيين ومجمل القرارات العنصرية لجمعية تركية الفتاة..الموضوع اساسا مافي يكون مادة فكاهية او كوميدية للفت الانتباه! لازم اول شي توقف دقيقة صمت عن ارواح وضحايا جور وبطش الجندرما والعناصر الانكشارية! بنصحك تروح عالاديرة وتفتش بالمخطوطات الغير منشورة لشهود عيان تناولو المرحلة وساهموا برفع ثقل المصاب! اما عن الهجرة الاولى في اواخر القرن التاسع عشر فقد اغفلت حوادث الجبل ١٨٤٠ و١٨٦٠ وهي الاسباب الرئيسية للهجرة لا سيما في المكون المسيحي لانهم كانوا المتضررين الاكبر…بالاضافة لقانون التجنيد الجديد او ال"السوق عسكر"
هو ما نكر هيدة النقطة ولكن ما سلط الضوء عليها لانها مش موضوع السردة. موضوع السردة هو مساهمة التجار المحتكرين اللبنانيين بمآسي اخوتهن اللبنانيين... وهوي مشهد عميتكرر اليوم.

Charles fails to grasp simple economic principles such as ‘supply and demand’. When items are scarce, prices go up. For Charles, the mere fact that you ‘could’ buy food, must mean that it was abundantly available. Therefore, it was the fault of the rich! lol
In any crisis, a lot of blame goes around *see present day*. Unfortunately, the hosts failed to challenge him on any of his conclusions.

I think you missed his point. The cause of the famine is more nuanced than just saying Ottoman empire bad
@@franco521 Charles is claiming that because a woman wrote in her diary that it was very expensive to buy food at that time, it mean't that food was readily available for everyone. He's missing the obvious point. It is expensive BECAUSE it is scarce, not the other way around.
@@vinnehacker No, nothing was missed. Charles is putting equal blame on those who profited. In ALL crises and war, people will find a way to profit, this is nothing new. The Lebanese famine at the hands of the Ottoman's is not exceptional in that regard. People, companies and banks profited off the Holocaust, but they were not the cause of it.
Had this been done at the hands of the French or British, would Charles be so "nuanced" in his opinion?
