I wanna live inside this video.
Saw them 2 months later at a tiny little venue called the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Slowdive opened for them, it was quite an amazing night of music.
I don't know you ,but I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to hate you now ha j/k
Oh man, I've lived in SJC for a couple of decades now. I can't believe they played at the Coach House and with Slowdive opening for them, I think my head would've exploded.
Saw them on the American leg of this tour...I was 15 it changed my life, ..I cant overstate it........there i saw kids barley 3 or 4 years older than me making beauty out of chaos apear in mid air........I went home, my hardcore and punk albums started collecting dust and i bought a guitar......rest is history.
.
Saw them on this tour 7th March, Manchester Academy, supported by Verve. One of the best nights ever.
30 years later and still at the top of their game. Same energy. Same passion. Just brilliant
This band... I first heard about Ride from a little zine called "New Route" and was intrigued. When I got my cassette copy of Nowhere I was totally floored. I've kept that tape for 20+ years (though cannot currently locate it!) I got to see them in Toronto with Slowdive opening, around '92. The juxtaposition of mellow harmonizing vocals with blazing but psychedelic guitars and ripping drumming seemed somehow perfect. The songs are great, melodies going exactly where you hoped they would. Flawless synthesis of melancholia and balls to the wall of sound rock delivered by passionate youth. Still holds up all these years later.
Did you see Slowdive at the Danforth Music Hall when they came back to Toronto a couple years ago? Awesome.
That's how you start the best live DVD of all time
Sam Mortley If they did a CD for this, it would be my favourite live album of all time
I witnessed Ride play at Bumbershoot this year in Seattle, WA. They opened with this song. 30 years later and they didn’t miss a beat, still the same amazing energy and incredible sound.
Yes. I was there. RIDE Going Blank Again tour at St Andrews Hall.
If I could like this a thousand times....I would...❤
I Remember Hearing This On Mark Goodiers Evening Session Years Ago.
What A Quality Tune👍
Love the jangle in Mark's Rickenbacker. In 2015, he seems to love the fuzz but it's the jangle that made me want to play guitar. Love Ride - watched them play in Sydney in 1992, right around the time they played this set in Brixton. I will never lose that feeling.
I saw them in Brisbane for the same tour...I will never forget that gig.
@@freakybeaky1 I think that's the 12 string version you passed by, but it's nice he's still into those guitars.
I think Andy is playing the Rick. Mark used a Fender Jaguar from 89 thru 92
I've loved this band since 1990. Never got to see them back in the day because I lived in the middle of nowhere (no pun intended) and there was no internet to alert me as to when they were anywhere within driving distance. Finally got to see them in 2017 though. Amazing show.
It's Ahhhhh-Ahhhhh-Ahhhh right on 4:00 that makes this song a masterpiece. Ride are priceless. Eternal.
Such a great track, just pure sound !
Saw them in ‘90 and ‘91. Amazing.
This makes me want to change my life
Friend, it makes me feel like I wasted my 20s, when I listened to this on cassette and had dreams of playing in a successful band but never really putting in the work. Do better!
A favourite ride song of a friend of mine...
they finally put a gig in Indonesia last year, and when this song played, it was a fucking DOPE! i scream like a maniac!!
This is absolutely amazing....absolutely
Saw them when they played RPM in Toronto on this tour...will never forget it. People falling over each other, psychedelia, beautiful time
Musical perfection. Playing it more now on the school run to pick up the kids than I ever have. And I played it constantly whilst at Uni in 1992-5 xx thanks Ride.
Been a while, happy to say hi again in Melb 2024
I was 15 Portsmouth Guildhall. I still remember feeling the base in my stomach.. I nearly whiteed ... but held it together and almost had an out of body experience when the signing kicked in ..lol!
Saw them with Lush. In ATL. Oid Cotton Club. Really one of the best shows ever.
I saw this show! One of the loudest shows I ever saw (along with Husker Du!)--great show and i had no idea what I was seeing!
Heroes
Such an epically awesome groove…
the best opening track and also the 'mantra' in Going Blank Again album.
Great song, love it.
Just saw these boys in Bristol and they made the hairs on my arms stand up. Absolute awesome and a trip down memory lane.
Just saw them in Bristol with my Dad, such a great gig!
Funnily enough Dad was at this gig in Brixton in 92, not that he'd like me to remind him of the time that's gone by since!
Absolute feltripper. Hugely underrated band
Really good wow, this was before Verve etc proper full on psychedelic rock...
Need this more than ever ! Get together again, Please.
They should have been mega stars with such a talent!
People nowadays don't know shit about those great bands of the 90's, British and American.....how unfortunate and sad.....
I’m 21 and I’ve been a fan of The Verve my whole life, but since the beginning of 2019 I’ve gotten into My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, Chapterhouse, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Boo Radleys, Yo La Tengo, Spiritualized, Curve, Flying Saucer Attack, Lush, Cocteau Twins, Mazzy Star, Jesus and Mary Chain, and so many others... I think it’s pretty safe to say shoegaze is my religion now lol I wish the rest of my generation could realise how awesome it is
@@stevenohenries5127 it’s the best genre mate. I’m 49 so was your age when this gig took place. Check out bailterspace and snapper from NZ on the flying nun label along with loads of other fantastic NZ bands. For Against from the states are great too. Enjoy.
If anything I think the music of this era only has more fans today purely because of the reach of the internet
RIDE, thanks so much for posting these videos! Absolutely electric performance!
I saw them at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD last week, INCREDIBLE.
So f'ing stoked to see them in NYC in June, 2015!
Quel morceau sans doute le meilleur titre j'adore. 30 ans déjà mais que du bonheur
love this track...!!
Amazing!!!
Love it too!
how FUCKING AMAZING is this?
Love that Gibson Firebird.
Epic
Un fkn believable. Like Puressence, amazing live
Absolute tune!!!
LTAB on the 2015 Manchester Live recording is by far my favourite version.
OMG they look like little kids here. So young back then. But trend setters in the shoe gaze sound.
Fucking amazing. Take me back😢
Awesome 🙌🏻
Found ride tapes at my brother room in 2000 and still pretending to hear it until now, btw andy I’m missin your long hair lol
Saw them last night in Atlanta. Been waiting 27 years, but it was totally worth it! I saw Mark in the little Greek restaurant beside the Variety Playhouse before the show. I was too star struck to even speak!
Hymn!
....can't await it, Glasgow 22nd, Amsterdam 26th!
Spiritual OxRock.
i wish i was alive to see this :
Have always preferred this to the album version, way noisier like Nowhere from 7mins onwards. What a sound!
Cannae wait to see them at Primavera Sound
For me complete new.
We que chido grupo 😍😘😗
I was there 😎
It's funny, because I though the same thing. Why Nirvana? These guys were taking the 1960's to the 1990' and beyond. So, why Nirvana? Corporations running the radio stations with their limited licensing, intelligence, and "sell advertising to the stupid!" I heard Ride and Swervedriver on a local independent non-commercial radio station unpolluted by lowest-common-denominator- Corporate-interests.
Incredible that they never got the attention Nirvana did, maybe it's coz they were Brits? Then again Oasis got notice yet these guys are equal to Oasis(in fact better on guitars) This keeps happening over and over...My Vitriol..*talking about you*
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🖤🖤🖤
好嘢
And people wasting their time listening to Nirvana just when we have this...
Nirvana: one of the most overrated band of all time. That's a fact. Deal with it.
both bands are great and groundbreaking and can be both enjoyed at the same time...
i was minus 2 y.o. so did i born in a wrong time? i so fkn love this band and shoegaze at all
Dharmakshetre Kurukshetre
OMGeeeerd.... they look like children. I must be old....
they recorded nowhere when they were 19/20 years old, this was 2 years after, so yeah pretty young.
Wheels turning around…
:O
Aaaaaugh why can't it be '92 instead of '22
Soon Athens
I was at this gig, the night before (26th) with support from Mercury Rev. What this video doesn't do though, is translate just how much that drum kit, particularly the kick drum, pounded you in the chest when it came in. I'll never forget it. It was a glorious huge sound. They were a loud band.
You lucky bastard
Yeah, saw them at Derby on the same tour and watching this, was thinking the drums are nowhere near as loud and pounding as on the night. Probably a good job actually, as it'd bust these speakers, lol :)
Very jealous! You're right though, this has to be felt. But the recording is pretty good. So you maybe we recreate that feeling. I just need a big enough room and the right kit. Back soon.
Yip...Seen them at the Tipperary festival that year, they were so loud...and oh...that bass drum!
Heavy pop ! Saw them and teenage fanclub this year 92... good memories. C'était le bon temps
