So I am curious how do you guys feel about a possible cancellation of a Multiplayer Marvel's Spider-Man Game? I know recent superhero multiplayer games have been poorly received but I think this one could have been better! What do you guys think?
I really hope it doesn’t get cancelled. I’ve been waiting for a game like this to fight my friends in or fight together and this seemed perfect!

I remember writing this as something I wanted for Christmas, and HOLY SHIT did that almost come true. Although I wouldn’t want it as a live service title

I think it’d be an amazing idea to have it as a DLC multiplayer mode like they did with Ghost of Tsushima. The idea of swinging around the city with your friends or family has always been something that I really wanted!

@@conqueror55yea you can see that it’s in development looks a little they could’ve had this cooking up but decided to scrap it but used the base to build Spider-Man 2 around if that makes sense this could’ve been great
I hope this actually drops, I wouldn’t even mind if it starts with barely any content as long as I can fight bad guys and do a few replayable missions against iconic bad guys with friends

My thoughts are that maybe the game will release but after insomniac implements all the multiverse thing on new games
To me this should be a game after Spider-Man 3 if you hear the dialogue in another trailer do you hear him say "formerly your Friendly name of Spider-Man" so this could take place afterwards and Peter retired.
I've been picturing this like DC Universe Online. There's story missions, but you can still socialise with other players outside of them.
Still kinda sore, knowing they cancelled. Oh well.

I’ve definitely think a multiplayer mode beyond the insomniac spider verse would be a great future because we have Spider-Man two and we were all like is this gonna be a multiplayer or not, because we were introduced that we would be able to play as Miles Morales and Peter Parker and I really wanted it to be a multiplayer, but unfortunately we got a switch along whenever you like now that’s great, but I kind of wish that this game was multiplayer because then I’ll be all like I wanna play Peter Parker and like my friend is all like I wanna play as Miles Morales now that I’m hearing about this it makes me wonder

i think if the characters were introduced properly and the story was done well enough, it could work, but i think think they should stop adding multiverse to everyting, which is what the trailer seemed to be going for
I think the best way to go about this is either 2 ways. First is to make it a dlc or combine it with the already in the making(spoilers for the upcoming dlc for MSM2) across the spider verse dlc and have paid battle passes or some type of in game currency. Second is to make it a stand alone game that's not to pricy like $20-$30 with less in game purchases as to not make it a cash grab.
either or I think we can all agree that it would be a crime to not release this is anyway shape or form.

I wish they did make this but I would love for there to be a MayDay skin at least in that game if it is revived... but even if they don't we should get a Mayday suit for Silk in sm3/ a solo silk game
I hope they release it, even if it’s not its own standalone game maybe this could be included in the Spiderverse anomaly dlc for spiderman 2 that coming and when you beat the dlc you can access the great web mode which would be the multiplayer stuff
Both trailers actually looked rly cool, but I'm glad the game got canceled. The other superhero based live service games haven't rly done that well and even if this one would do good, I still think the story would be lacking and that just can't happen with the insomniac spider-man games. The story has been rly good so far (with some small downsides) and I wouldn't want to see it take any major dip.

Here is the thing though. Ghost of Tsushima's Legends multiplayer mode came "free" with the game.
A multiplayer mode to Marvel's Spider-Man 2 that you pay 10 or 20 dollars to get, when you've already paid a hefty full price fee for even just the standard edition of the game is just plain bad.
And this is on top of the issue where you have to subscribe to PlayStation Plus to actually play online, hence why I put quotation marks around the word free for Ghost of Tsushima's Multiplayer mode.

I think they could maybe just add a multiplayer system to Spiderman 2. It would be much easier and it wouldn't have to have it's own story.
The way ghost did it was perfect, they didn’t even charge an extra fee for the mp mode.
It honestly would be the best for getting the multiplayer mode because people want to play spider-man with their friends And so in order for that happen we need a multiplayer Spider-Man mode

Yes it’s the third and final DLC for spider-man 2. They probably cancelled the game to focus more on the quality of spider-man 2 and its DLC.
Honestly a spiderverse MMORPG would be really sick. Progressing your spidey and developing a unique kit would be awesome.

they canceled it a few years ago maybe they could be working on it we don’t know yet

I would love this multiplayer mode if they did it in the style of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. That's one of the few multiplayer modes in games I actually enjoyed even though I'm usually a single-player guy.
This would not do well since insomniac don't do live service games and with how superhero live service games have been handled through out the yrs i don't blame them for canceling this game

These guys could easily pull a ghost of tsushima. Give us the single player, I love the insomniac story line but give us an online version too. That way you have the story but can play around with friends. Spiderman Online hahaha

I’m 50/50 on it, I brutally honestly want Spider-Man to stay Single player. It’s a story game and if it turns out like SSKTJL, and Avengers, and GK, then it’ll ruin it.
