- It's been playing on my mind how a burnaway cake would fare with the images on the front of the cake instead of the top of the cake so I gave it a go...

This would make an epic Halloween cake ……!! 🤩🤩
Mental note for October ✍️
You never fail to impress and entertain! 😂 This would be great for Halloween with a crimson red buttercream!
Omg yes!!!! That’s genius! Maybe I’ll do another 👀
It was a beautiful cake! If you use the paper I’ve seen used by some bakers, it would go up in a flame within seconds and the icing would not have melted. It’s called Pyro paper/flash paper. It’s not supposed to leave ashes or anything. The wafer paper burns much slower, and leaves ashes. Only downside is the flash paper can be expensive
Thank you for this! I’m not sure that flash paper is food safe… do you know if it is?
I suppose, if you put the thick double border of icing in between the flash paper, and the icing image, once it burns away, you could just scrape off the extra icing over the icing image before cutting the cake to make sure there aren’t any pieces of the flash paper left under the icing. That is, if you used the white Flash paper.
@@tashikaenglish2713 well since wafer paper I'd edible.....think as it like s'mores...the aches are quite safe

Flash paper would need to be edible.
The testing was successfully done. Perhaps if the burn away image was lit at the base rather than the centre, it may have worked much better. Just a thought.
That looks good! I wonder if you start slightly more from the bottom so the flames continue.
Good idea! Poor buttercream didn’t stand a chance, did it 😂
Dumb question - but could you ignite from like multiple points (more towards bottom, center, left& right ) so that the flames could connect & burn faster? Or would that just be an epic mess & make the flame hotter & melt the butter cream more?
Not a dumb question at all, sounds like a great idea and well worth a go given the epic mess I already had on my hands 😂 Thanks for the suggestion 💛
This butter cream i can use for whipped cream
