Every time I hear it I cry. I'm very lucky to be born into a world a bit more understanding towards LGBT people, when I came out my family and community supported me, as did the gay people in this generation. The stories though, during the HIV crisis, are heartbreaking, I know one man who lost eleven friends in SIX MONTHS, I don't know how he has the strength to carry on, but he does. This song also pulls on my leftist sentiments, solidarity across boundaries is a beautiful thing, and I hope we all we keep holding out our hands to each other

Amazing. I've been looking for this since seeing the movie. What a great song, and fantastic rendition of a song of liberation!! It reminds me og my grandmother on the picket lines.
We (Aus Trade Union Choir) sang this song in Cuba last year and got a great reception every time. So moving and brought us both to tears in the movie! Go, our grandmothers!! Marjory

I'm rarely emotional at the cinema, but this song had me shedding a few tears because it's beauty.
