I really would like to see this VHS you made! It sucks they "lost" it, stupid kids lol. Great video, the editing was impressive! I love this game so much. I'll always remember the first time I saw it, my mind was truly blown. I was admittedly disappointed by the graphics on the SNES version but was stunned by how they made it feel like the arcade. Rare has to be one of the best developers of that time. My dream was to have the real thing at home but didn't think it would ever happen. Now that I do have the arcade, I'm still kind of stunned by it sometimes. Its so cool to make that childhood dream come true. Thanks for including me in the video!

You were the coolest kid for a 2 days, that was funny. What was fun to watch and even more hilarious was the side by side comparison of the gameboy version, lol. When I was hardcore into mame, Killer Instinct was the hardest game to emulate without a PC. I tried every version of pi available at the time to get it going but it just wasn’t working. I decided to buy a RecRoom Masters and I skinned it with KI art, colored buttons etc. I even recreated the opening as best I could in HD to pop up when the machine turns on. No I have the original arcade machine and it’s still got the best opening of any arcade machine ever. It’s a huge reason I went as hardcore into this hobby as I did. If you dig deep into my channel you can see my Killer Instinct Recroom Master which I still own.

Fantastic video. Very nostalgic, which, anyone that knows me KNOWS my life pretty much revolves around nostalgia. I was indeed a Killer Instinct fan and i remember the first time i saw the intro of the game at my local arcade. Standing there in awe, wishing i had a 2 quarters to actually play it. Well, i eventually did get the opportunity to play it and i really enjoyed it. Mortal Kombat 1,2,3 and UMK3 are my go to games but K.I. was definitely a close 2nd back then. I remember playing K.I. for hours with my cousins and a few friends and was very impressed at how great the quality turned out to be on SNES. This brought back some Great memories. Blockbuster, EB games and other great classic establishments mentioned in your video made it even better. Great Upload. ✌️

I remember being blown away by this game and traveling far distances to arcades to play it. Fortunately the local bowling alley got it a few months later and I played it many times there. I remember being disappointed by the watered down port we got on the SNES. I wish the N64 would have been CD or 64DD cart based so we could have had proper versions of KI 1+2. I think the Sega Saturn with 4meg expansion cart could of pulled it off as well but too bad it was an exclusive Nintendo game.

I had the gameboy version because at the time I didn't have an SNES. I thought it was ok, but not great. Then I got the SNES version and I really enjoyed it. I remember trying to replicate the combos printed in a video game magazine, and it was tricky because it was just a long string of X Y B and A's. I also remember listening to the CD that came with the game, it was a really nice touch. I didn't get to play the arcade version at that time, but when I finally discovered it a decade later, I was really impressed : it was so impressive with its massive characters and animated pre rendered 3D stages. I wonder how people who got to know the SNES version after the arcade felt ? Thanks for the video, it was really enjoyable and I'm all for the 90's retro vibes.

I enjoy KI 1 a lot, because my favorite character Fulgore has a very solid moveset in that version, but in KI 2 and then the Xbox One Remake, they just changed Fulgore's moveset too much for my liking, I think that the design they chose to go with for the remake is the coolest version of his appearance, but I just can't get behind his playstyle especially how his reactor mechanic works, or how far different the character feels compared to KI 1, I can still have a good time in the other games, but I just prefer the original KI 1 if I want to play that character.
The funny thing about my history with KI though, and especially with my favorite character being Fulgore, is that as a kid I was terrified of him, because the SNES cartridge was black and they had Fulgore on the cover basically jumping towards you, and I did everything I could to stay far away from that cartridge, as I only liked playing colorful games like the Mario ones, and my favorite game growing up had been Yoshi's Island, but as I started joining social groups that were into competitive gaming and such, I was reintroduced to KI and after trying out the characters and such, the only one that stuck with me was Fulgore, because he always had something to counter the enemy with built in his kit, and even though that made him a little more complex than other characters, once you got used to the moveset and became pretty good with him, you just felt like an actual unstoppable killing machine.

I agree, KI was the most balanced version of the game with the best combo systems imho. But I still have a nostalgia for KI2, although it doesn’t compare to the first :)

If it wasn't planned to hit consoles, why did it say "coming to your home in 1995 only on ultra 64 (which became Nintendo 64)? Cruisin' USA did the same thing. I thought the intention was to always bring these home and they were showcase pieces for the N64.
This must be MAME footage using some weird shader that doesn't do the visuals in this game any justice. Characters look smeared.

🤔 you sound like you're around my age, go out with me 😍🥰❤️. I saw your Street fighter alpha anthology video, you're smart, because of you, I will make my cabinets what they need to be, and smart equals sexy, you're good at this stuff. But ki #1? Bah! On who's list? I like ki it's "ok"I think fulgore is the closest thing to Ryu, But let's face it, super Street fighter 2 turbo came out that year the sf II animated movie also came out that year and then you had the Van dam Street fire movie that December, so if anything, that year sf dominated the planet 😂. I was 14 that year by the way.
