I love the background music. And you scripted this video very well. Zooms are on point and your hand are doing a good job emphasizing your words. 🎉 more videos like this
Thanks a ton Emilio!!
I would love to see a video where you go through shipping tips, organization/storage, and other nitty gritty details like that. Love the vids and keep up the great work!
Coming soon!
Can’t wait to get started this weekend. Wouldn’t be without your channel
Let's go! Best of luck this weekend :)
Thanks Will! Just went live last night on TCG player! Already had my first 3 sales. I will for sure take your $20 tracked advice so I can move up the seller levels. Really appreciate the insight. And the editing on your videos are on point 👍 keep up the great work!
Fantastic, best of luck on TCGP! Thank you :)
Great video! Took me less than a year to get to get to lvl 4 while working FT with 2 kids. All because of your videos! Thank You 🙏🏽
Glad to help!
I’ve taken a lot of your advice from previous videos, and applied it to my TCGplayer business that I have just started over the last 2-3 weeks! Love your approach compared to the traditional “investor” Pokémon CZcamsr approach. Also, the videos keep getting better and better my guy!!
That's excellent Alexander! I've tried to stay away from that type of content, so happy it's going noticed. Thanks for the comment and best of luck!
How is it going for you? I am thinking about doing this.
I have not tried the "free shipping" option yet and I am a level 4 seller. I am going to set it up as free over 5 and see how much it increases my daily sales. Thanks for the info as always my man! Cheers
It's super worth it if you're looking to move a lot of volume. Best of luck!
Excellent presentation of the information. Thank you so much.
I'm glad you liked the video, you're welcome!
Great info thank you! The hero we needed
Glad you enjoyed it
Your content is excellent man! I have been researching starting to sell cards and man it is tough to tell if I want to really get into it yet or not.
It sounds like it could be fun but would take up a bit of time and selling cards simply for profit in the short term seems rather difficult because the margins are not huge - but if you have lots of volume it can add up.
How plausible would it be to start selling a collection of cards, snow ball the profits into more inventory, eventually hitting level 4 - to do TCG Direct (which sounds like less time shipping) and build up a large $$ inventory and sell it all to an LGS or a startup LGS, like selling my business to them, because I don't want to start an LGS and operate it, I'd rather own it and someone else operates it because also at some point I wouldn't want to be spending all my time in life just scanning, organizing, and shipping cards.
Thanks for the comment Jordan! I would say it likely wouldn't be profitable. A local LGS will want to pay 60% market value and bulk rates for whatever you accumulate. Unless there is something that differentiates your business, I don't think it would work out where you would have a super profitable exit.
@@TheLabTCG @TheLabTCG Dang perhaps so, is there even a good strategy to operate in a part-time fashion and balance taking profits (would that even be profitable to?) Could that even replace a regular 40-hour 9-5? It depends on your expenses of course but if they are lower and/or if you have other incomes - it just wonder if there is an balanced way to make profit but also the time I'd spend - maybe a good idea for a video - For the person that wants to go all in, create a LGS etc - to the person that likes it as a passion but doesn't want an LGS - to the person thats interested in selling cards and in profit but not spending tooo much time on it- to the person that just needs to unload cards fast - and how much you could be expected to make and maybe the truth is some of those scenarios may not be worth the time at all. Then there are pros and cons - you can have "revenue" vs "profit", you could have huge revenue but if you take too much profit for yourself you limit how much you can reinvest, and the profit may not actually be that much, which ultimatley stops your business - but the more product and volume you have to get that revenure the more time you spend operating it, idk it seems me hitting tcg direct and selling primarliy through that is the optimal time spent vs profit taking method - if not aiming for an actual LGS, but depends on if you have house space for alot of invnentory, how much would be needed and how much space does that really take?
I started TCGPlayer sales about 2 weeks ago and just hit Seller Level 2. It was pretty seemless. If your like me, and can afford, and just want to get to Level 4 as soon as fast as I can, I list for Lowest Sale and stuff. But, if I were to do it again, I would wait to sell bulk until I get to Level 3 or Level because of the cap of how much you can list.
Great call, I think this is a good idea!
Could you please make an updated video on the supplies you use to ship your cards and run your business? That would be very helpful.
Sure thing! I actually use the same supplies as that old video.
Another Tuesday banger🔥🔥

eBay’s 1.05 envelope shipping for items less than $20 comes with tracking, good deal
Ebay is pretty solid, I've been leaning into tcgplayer a lot.
I sell on eBay myself only cost me 0.6 cents as a 9x6x1 white envelope
@@CRIMZGambles That is pretty good. I use tcgplayer over ebay because of the time to list. The tracking is nice though.
Great video! Was wondering how you manage listing your bulk as far as efficiency goes. Do you take all the photos at once then move them to your pc for listing or do you take a photo, list the card, take another photo list that card, etc.?
I actually use TCGPlayers CSVs. I just enter my quantity and price then upload.
@@TheLabTCG ah I'm on ebay so listing can be a pain. Might just use it for pricier stuff and transition to TCGplayer for lower value and bulk stuff.
@@parkere1911 That is a good strategy. I did that when I first started. If I were super focused on maximizing the value of my cards, I would do that now as well.
@@TheLabTCG yeah I dont have the biggest inventory right now. Only about 600 listings so I am trying to get as much possible out of what I have right now. I've been going about 2 and a half months and have done about 350 individual sales so far. It's a ton of work for sure but it's really fun too
instead of online can you sell it physically? like in store face by face
Real talk, I find it incredibly rare to see anyone go into my store to surpass $5, in fact I a see a ton of orders at 4.02-4.99 range where theoretically they'd save money by purchasing more. The boost in the ranking alone is what seems to drive sales though, so that part is still true.
Both are benefits! I have experienced that as well where people don't go over five.
8:47 Are you talking about the free shipping on orders over $5.00? I'm Lvl 4 and can't figure out how you set that up. Any help would be most appreciated.
Will I wish there was a way I could chat to you directly ya know I could learn so much from you.
My question of the day is this.
What’s your process for pricing up a collection? Do you total up the entire value of the collection and then offer 60% of that value or do you quote each card individually and offer 60-70% on each card.
Also I really don’t like saying no to anything buying wise but for example if some one came to you with a whole load of WOTC Commons and Uncommons what sort of price can you realistically buy each common for? I think it’s unfair to class it as bulk rate buys so I would not feel comfortable offering like 1p a card in this instance but at the same time they are still not classed as expensive cards I’m a bit stuck in this respect.
Love from the UK 🇬🇧
Hey Joe! There actually are a couple ways. I am relatively active in our community discord. Alternatively, I've been fielding questions through the CZcams memberships I have on my channels. For entire collections, I will price out anything over $3. I started using a tiered system where cards 3-20 get 50%, 20-50 get 60%- and 50 plus get 70%. As for WOTC bulk, I have run into this before. I think the highest I have paid was around .1 per card, but they were in excellent condition. If older bulk is in bad condition, I would say it is appropriate to offer current bulk rates. If it is in excellent condition, do some research for what the bulk cards are selling for and try to come up with an estimate based on that. Hope this helps!
Could you have a friend buy 50 items one at a time at $1 per order?
I'm a collector ready to half price my whole lot to someone even less or certain cards but someone around 1000 cards
I have just started my business journey in selling Pokémon cards. What is your recommendation on the best way to acquire bulk cards from individuals? Are there websites in which you can buy bulk?
Creating social media accounts and creating relationships with people in your area. Most sites like ebay have bulk listings, but they aren't necessarily worth buying.
I'm new to the hobby and just looking to sell my extra cards. Is TCGPlayer even a good fit for me? I mean, my bulk collection is adding up pretty quickly, and I'm looking to price bulk at $0.25 per card. I don't really have very many cards of much value to get through the first levels, and selling bulk at higher prices probably won't work with small inventory.
It can be difficult to start and you likely will lose money in the beginning. I'd suggest joining the discord if you haven't already. Lots of people share their success stories from starting small on tcgplayer.
Thank u for help. I'm going to try this. I just got a bunch of Pokemon cards from the early 90s. If u want to help me I'll pay u. Really amazing advice. Thank u
I have a question about taxes that nobody seems to know the answer to. So if I open packs and then sell the cards on tcgplayer, can I deduct some of that pack cost since technically it cost me money to acquire the card and wasn't just pure profit? And if so then what do I deduct? The pack cost? The cost of the card? All packs I opened in that year?
Not a tax expert, so I don't know the answer to the specifics: I have a cpa handle that. But yes, you can deduct the cost of the pack from your sales revenue.
I'm starting to sell on TCG Player and other apps the only problem I have is figuring out what to print and how to print the shipping label!!
Using an ink jet printer is an great method for packing slips. If you are using ebay or want to use thermal labels, you need to purchase a thermal printer like the rollo.
Took me about 4 months to get level 4, once I got level 4 took another month or 2 to unlock TCGdirect. After that I was selling like crazy.
Nice!
I want to make it a profitable business..I want to start asap but where do I start? Do I just buy random packs and open them up or sell them sealed?? Or do I hold them for z amount of years???
I would highly advise against opening packs for profit. It doesn't really work. Start by buying collections of cards under market value and selling them for market value.
I’m a level 3 seller and I been stuck on this level because I don’t want to do free shipping because my listed cards on tcgplayer are worth $20-60 I’ll take a hit from fees and shipping if I did or am I missing something?
Free Shipping is more enticing to buyers and at smaller dollar amounts they have an incentive to buy more than one card to get over the $5 threshold where shipping becomes free. You don't have to do it, but it greatly improves your sales volume!
@@TheLabTCG hmm that makes total sense I’ll give it a try thanks for replying as always great video you don’t miss
@@GustavoSanchez-ic3ok Haha thanks man
Should I be listing my commons, uncommons and other non holos?
In my opinion yes, but it takes more effort.
How do you set it to free ship? I thought this was only available for pro sellers.
Once you hit level 4, you can set your standard shipping rate to $0 in the shipping settings tab.
The only reason I don’t use tcgplayer is because I can’t see what I’m buying most of the times. They need to update that otherwise I’ll only shop thru mercari and ebay.
Interesting, I would agree their UI isn't the best shopping experience.
I just have a few cards, and I want to sell them
"five importnat steps"
Sadly is only for USA for seller 😭
