this hour went by like 15min, amazing documentary as always 👀 only flaw I'd point out was that the end felt very rushed compared to the rest but that's really it
Out of all the thousands of GD videos I have ever watched, this is easily my most favourite video ever. Its a great video to trigger our nostalgia senses and a great video to study for newer GD players. I also love the editing of this video and your unqiue chill voice ( idk why people would even hate it ). Good job blue Ps I am actually rewatching
This video not only makes me want to make an impossible level myself, but also makes me wish I started playing earlier to participate in the (compared to today, easy) early demons.
Constructive idea here: I think for some of the montage showcases you do, almost like how you would quickly show what run someone was doing during a verification (i.e. 65-100) You should for every record clip or thing of the like show the date also in the corner, to visualize the time. With the montage of Knob getting records on bloodlust, I’d love to quickly see the timeline of when they happened. :)
Good video! I don’t know if these count as the hardest demons, but there were levels such as Lucid Nightmares which would’ve been the Top 1 if it was rated when verified. There were a few others like that as well, such as Crimson Planet, but you mentioned that in the video.
Crimson Planet was the top 1 demon for a while. When Zodiac was in the scandal of the verifier hacking the level, it was removed from the demon list. So the top 2, which at the time was Crimson Planet, got the #1 spot for a couple of days before Technical49 verified Zodiac legitimately.
This was recommended to me and I watched the whole video and saw the part where space verified slaughterhouse, and I was like, “bro he hacked” and was about to comment but then I realized this was released in 2022

Watched the entire thing and loved it! After watching your spaceuk video, I thought you were pretty good at GD documentaries, but once I saw this video, I had to subscribe. Keep it going, you earned my respect!
As a long time player (since 1.6), it was really interesting to see how many old "top 1 demons) there were before the idea of a demon list was really even a concept in the community. The amount of (at the time) seemingly impossible old levels that were either hacked or verified with a secret way is just something that we don't see anymore today, and the fact that just about every single one of them was rated for at least a short period of time is honestly mind boggling when you compare it to the amount of legitimately verified levels that take ages to get rated today. I also think it's interesting how many levels were claiming the "top 1" spot back then, as well as how quickly that spot was shifting around as difficulty scaling increased so quickly in the first year of the game's release. I honestly thought that the top spot shifted around far more in the modern day considering the amount of "upcoming top 1-3" levels we've seen previewed over the last couple of years, but I then realized that a lot of those levels just don't end up coming out/getting rated until their time frame for being the hardest level in the game has already passed. There may be 14 levels placed ahead of Tartarus now, but it's weird to think that only a couple of them can actually claim to have been top 1 at soke point. Overall, really solid video that gives a good amount of information about such a historied topic (and rather difficult to document when it comes to early levels). I do think that in addition to the already pointed out mistakes, some things had been glossed over/skipped out on entirely when it came to certain levels, such as Trusta's infamous nerfing of Yatagarasu which, if I remember correctly, made some people doubt whether or not it would actually claim the top 1 spot (or at least remain there for nearly as long as its predecessor Bloodbath had). Still, a solid video.
If I had a dime for every time he said something around the lines of “this difficulty is on a whole other level” I’d have at least 5. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird how he didn’t diversify his script.
Fantastic video! One thing to consider for future videos: often the narration is hard to understand due to certain syllables not being fully enunciated. Whether the solution is in your narration itself or your microphone, you should look into fixing this for future vids. Also a couple inaccuracies: I believe Sandstorm beat Cataclysm just before Riot Sunix was the first victor of Athanatos, with Knob being second
Timestamps for all of the first five video game level showcases with the same concept: "This - Is Demon Park." 2:25 "That is- until a creator named" 5:54 "This - Is Heaven & Hell." 6:56 "None other than" 8:5010:24
Awesome video! I personally found the end a bit weird, with how you mentioned that slaughter house was to be verified by SpaceUK, instead of it being a race between multiple players, you barely mentioned Firework despite it being one of the most anticipated top1, and also how you ordered the progression clips of space, putting a 43-95 run after showing a 33-100 run Otherwise, great video, gives off heavy Summoning Salt vibes, and I absolutely love it!
Yeah the pacing was a bit weird, but I didn’t mention the slaughterhouse verification race since when space joined in everyone else pretty much gave up immediately lol
After watching this entire video lemme just say, awesome job putting this together. However... I wish you didnt speed through the recent history so quick. As this video gets older people might not be as familiar with the history after tartarus, which isn't properly covered in the video. There was no intro to firework, arcturus was glossed over, and sakupen circles wasnt properly introduced either. Also maybe you coulda done a bit on trueffet as well. Other than the ending, this was quite enjoyable to watch even with knowing most of the history and having mistakes.
I left the community when Zodiac popped off (mostly because the news of something beating bloodlust was just too much for me), and returned after the kenos verification. I’m glad to see that the gd community is shining with new faces, and everyone continues to grow and push the limit!
The very first demon was stereo madness because it was the very first level that was made and thought of and was considered the most hardest at its time since no other level was made until back on track
Just watched the entire video Gotta say, it was a total banger Congratulations to everyone who has verified the hardest demons at their time, and as well as alot today!

(Note: SpaceUK was revealed to have hacked the Slaughterhouse verification after this video’s release. The actual verifier of Slaughterhouse is Doggie.)
58:09 Sakupen Circles
(Note: This level was reconsidered to be easier than Slaughterhouse after this video’s release)
The current #1 hardest level as of January 5th, 2024 is Avernus.

The hardest level as of January 16, 2024, is now Tidal Wave.
Fun fact: Firework was 18 seconds before Slaughterhouse in the demon list so Firework dethroned Tatarus
it got rated 18 seconds earlier but they were added at the same time to the demon list*
@@TheJoku1604 oh
@Fattyfish7I highly doubt you have enough experience on each level to determine that
@Fattyfish7no you said it IS harder
@@TheJoku1604They didn't, Firework got added a bit before
I always thought of Bloodlust as “the” top demon. It was so iconic and has such an imposing power. Zodiac was random so I wasn’t impressed with its rating.
true actually.
did you see bloodbath, aftermath and tartarus the same way as bloodlust?
@@MBLsidekick no bloodbath was legendary but sakupen hell felt just like a upcoming top 1
@@MBLsidekick not Tartarus, but at the time of Bloodbath being number one I thought of it that way and then Bloodlust is the sequel to that level so it therefore is better and should be number one

This is one of the highest quality GD documentaries I’ve ever seen, it’s amazing to see the next Sea or Norkbork before they absolutely blow up.
Awesome stuff, keep it up!

this hour went by like 15min, amazing documentary as always 👀
only flaw I'd point out was that the end felt very rushed compared to the rest but that's really it
OMG I just watched a one hour long documentary of a square jumping over triangles videogame :0
PD: Great job man, these videos are amazing! :D
Out of all the thousands of GD videos I have ever watched, this is easily my most favourite video ever. Its a great video to trigger our nostalgia senses and a great video to study for newer GD players. I also love the editing of this video and your unqiue chill voice ( idk why people would even hate it ). Good job blue
Ps I am actually rewatching
58:53 that yeah is the best yeah I’ve ever heard
badger from breaking bad
This video not only makes me want to make an impossible level myself, but also makes me wish I started playing earlier to participate in the (compared to today, easy) early demons.
I watched this whole video, and all that I can say is thank you, it’s really cool to know that this ever evolving game has so much lore
55:21 well I guess its Doggie now
update: acheron got rated and it taked slaughterhouse down and idk what abyss of darkness had a potential too but it droped
Maybe because this video was posted before Acheron every existied
52:20 It still some tears out of me when i see Michigun. especially on something that big like tartarus verified
Great ass documentary can't wait to watch the entire hour while washing the dishes
@@Fingynium Crimson Planet was only top 1 for about 24 hours. Technical had already beaten Zodiac when Xander was exposed.
@@zen0x50 My mistake then.
This was recommended to me and I watched the whole video and saw the part where space verified slaughterhouse, and I was like, “bro he hacked” and was about to comment but then I realized this was released in 2022
OMG YES IM THE MILLIONTH VIEWER THIS IS SO EPIC YESSSSS!!!!!!!! OH MY GOOOOODD YESSSSSSSSSSSSS IMPOSSIBLE

great video, listened to do this while grinding demons, completed Nine Circles :)
This is the only documentary that I would watch on TV
Mans this is actually really well documented. Nice job man!
This was my favorite experience watching a YT video. Honestly, a perfectly made video, Blue. Honestly, this is hands down one of the greatest videos regarding to the entire game. I loved it man, keep it going! Much love
God I love watching this sort of history content. There are always new things to learn about the far corners of the game. Dropped a sub

(July 18th 2022) Silent clubstep is now verified
Fantastic video!
One thing to consider for future videos: often the narration is hard to understand due to certain syllables not being fully enunciated. Whether the solution is in your narration itself or your microphone, you should look into fixing this for future vids.
Also a couple inaccuracies:
I believe Sandstorm beat Cataclysm just before Riot
Sunix was the first victor of Athanatos, with Knob being second
I have struggled with this for a long time, and all I can say is that my voice is just a little special.
@@gmdblue No worries! Might come with practice as well. Maybe slowing down the narration would help? I wouldn't know for sure

Awesome video!
I personally found the end a bit weird, with how you mentioned that slaughter house was to be verified by SpaceUK, instead of it being a race between multiple players, you barely mentioned Firework despite it being one of the most anticipated top1, and also how you ordered the progression clips of space, putting a 43-95 run after showing a 33-100 run
Otherwise, great video, gives off heavy Summoning Salt vibes, and I absolutely love it!
Other than the ending, this was quite enjoyable to watch even with knowing most of the history and having mistakes.
slaughterhouse at the end “dethroning Tartarus” feels different now
I left the community when Zodiac popped off (mostly because the news of something beating bloodlust was just too much for me), and returned after the kenos verification. I’m glad to see that the gd community is shining with new faces, and everyone continues to grow and push the limit!
“the first victor being riot with a beautiful reaction”

With now everybody knowing that spaceuk hacked slaughterhouse, it hits different am i right?
