this is excellent centerman advice! Im a fan of good 2-way centerman. Its the hardest position for skaters.

Oh I meant the 2 on 1's in the battles. Say you've got a 50 / 50 battle on the boards ( a 1 on 1) with the center in a support position. Do you encourage the center to jump in at times to create a temporary 2 on 1 for a chance to gain possession?

Great video, and great series. I'll be sharing for sure.
How do you feel about temporary 2 on 1's in the defensive zone? (When would you say a centreman should jump in)

I'm typically a fan of allowing centers to be more aggressive down low and ensuring the weak-side wing is in a support position in the high-slot. This will minimize the number of 2 on 1's that happen down low. A slight adjustment of the strong-side wing will let you handle the point relatively effectively.

Oh - yes, I do. I would rather have my players make an aggressive mistake than a passive one. There are of course specific ways to teach to go into those battles with a higher likelihood of success. Then video review can always show them whether or not they made the right read.

Love the part about communication. So many high school guys act like their in a library on the ice. Communication is so key.
