Amazing course. I personally would love to see this course host the US Open at least once a decade
Merion will host the Open in 2030 & 2050. I wonder why not 2040. I agree with you that Merion is a great Open course.
As Lee Trevino said after he won the Open at Merion: “I’m in love with Merion and I don’t even know her last name.”
I feel like there's about 7 courses that the US Open should just stick to. Having it at lacc this year instead of one of the iconic courses is just stupid imo
@@dorothygale1104I live 1 hr from Merion...best course in the world in my opinion but the community is small...tough to host a major in such a small area but happy to see we're back in the rotation
@@jefftaylor8644absolutely. There’s maybe 15 courses that can host a US Open. Erin Hills around 2017 was the weirdest one by far

Rose’s 2nd shot on 18 was one of the most majestic shots under pressure that I have ever seen.
2023 us open at LACC played like the Phoenix Open compared to the beast that is MERION
I was 13 years old standing behind Phil in the fairway on that last wedge shot. When he started to walk it out after he hit, it felt like the whole crowd in the fairway would rush the green if he made it. Will never forget that moment

thick rough, narrow fairways, fast undulating greens makes for high scores. This course the way it was set up there would probably not even be fun for a mid handicap amateur. probably shoot in the 130's haha
